Preview: WWE Raw (7/22/24) – CM Punk Returns

Preview: WWE Raw (7/22/24) - CM Punk Returns

WWE Raw rolls into Green Bay, Wisconsin this week as rivalries hot up on the road to SummerSlam.

You can catch all the action live from the Resch Center at 8/7CT on the USA Network.

There is the return of CM Punk, and a couple of matches have been booked. This means we can expect a number of bouts to be added to the card on the night.

Gear up for WWE Raw with our preview.

Match Card WWE Raw (7/22/24)

  • “The Final Testament” Karrion Kross & The Authors of Pain vs. Xavier Woods, Otis & Akira Tozawa
  • Lyra Valkyria vs. Sonya Deville
  • CM Punk Promo

CM Punk

CM Punk gets his turn to act as the big guy on Raw safe in the knowledge that Drew McIntyre isn’t in the building. McIntyre can’t breathe without getting suspended at the moment so he’ll be at home.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce will hope to keep the two men apart for as long as possible before their inevitable summer blow-off at SummerSlam

Otis’s Hurt Feelings With Gable Benefits Woods

Otis has hurt feelings over Chad Gable’s trash behavior. Hopefully, Otis is feeling good for finally standing up for himself.

Either way, the situation has benefited Xavier Woods. The Final Testament succeeded in injuring Kofi Kingston and leaving Woods all alone.

Otis and Akira Tozawa are proving a point to Gable by backing up Woods instead of their Alpha Academy pal who has the Wyatt Sicks to contend with. The Final Testament takes on the makeshift team of Otis, Woods, and Tozawa.

Bo Dallas and The Wyatt Sicks will give us another VHS backstory, and perhaps give Gable and the Creed Brothers another fright.

Deville’s Division

Lyra Valkyria has taken over the women’s division since debuting on WWE Raw. Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan are in a league of their own but Valkyria isn’t far behind.

But Sonya Deville has returned and, with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark in her corner, has laid a claim that the division is hers. We will find out who truly is best of the rest, this week.

What Else?

Expect more from Ripley and Morgan and their love triangle with Dominik Mysterio and The Judgement Day.

Damian Priest and Gunther will develop on the great groundwork laid in the story leading into their World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam

Pete Dunne will shun (or slap) Sheamus as he continues to step out of his shadow.
