NWA Powerrr Recap (7/9/24)

NWA Powerrr Recap

A huge women’s world title match highlights this week’s episode of Powerrr. Along with that, we find out who will meet the Southern 6 in the Crockett Cup Finals.

And also, former NWA World’s Champion Baron Von Storm makes his presence felt on Powerrr.

Your Opening Contest

The final semi-final contest in the 2024 Crockett Cup was between the Immortals and the reigning NWA Tag Champs, Blunt Force Trauma. This was a rematch from Hard Times when the Immortals were cheated out of the titles by Aron Stevens.

They had relinquished their US tag titles before the matchup for that title opportunity. This was personal.

Carnage and Kratos would open the match. Kratos would come out with some massive offense, with a Claymore-style kick followed by a massive spear for a quick near fall right out of the gate.

The matchup would seem fairly balanced throughout. Stevens would get involved mirroring the Hard to Kill match but, this time, would miss his mark.

The Manager of Champions would knock out his own man.

The Immortals would use this to their advantage and secure a quick pinfall victory. This is the first clean loss for the tag team champions since claiming the gold against La Rebellion at NWA 75

After the match, Ella Envy would address the Powerrr Station. She would talk about her upcoming match against the Women’s World Champion Kenzie Paige. She would have this to say,

“It was only a matter of time Kenzie. While you were out making everything about you, I was here babysitting that little brat of a sister of yours, trying to keep Pretty Empowered on top!”

A Former World Champion and the Current Women’s Champion

In the middle of the card, we saw Big Strong Mims with BLK Jeez make their return to NWA Powerrr. The two announced their alliance a few weeks prior on NWA TV.

Coming out second was former NWA World champ Tim Storm. This however was a very different Storm. This was Baron Von Storm!

Starting early in the match attempting an Iron Claw on Mims, the commentary team would do a great job explaining the change in persona for Storm. The former TV champ, Mims, would gain an advantage.

Both corners would utilize eye gouges to even the playing field. The even-fought match would continue until Storm would connect and trap Mims in the Iron Claw.

Even after the match, Storm would only release the Claw for tag team partner Jax Dane

A video package would lead us to the main event. The relationship between Paige and Envy is the focal point.

The early part of the match was evenly fought. Both sides knew each other well and seemed to have an answer for everything the other did.

Ms Starr, Ella’s manager ringside, would get involved as would Kylie Paige. The middle of the match was controlled almost entirely by Ella Envy.

Envy would line up for her finish, and all pandemonium would ensue. Kylie jumped on the apron for the distraction, but Starr quickly removed her from the situation slamming the younger Paige sister’s head on the apron on the way down.

This advantage would be all it would take for Paige to secure the victory. With a clean exchange flowing nicely into a Kenzie Cutter for the 1-2-3 pinfall.

Next week on Powerrr, the Crockett Cup Finals happen and we see who wins the tournament in 2024!
