Preview: AEW Dynamite (11/01/23)

AEW Dynamite Tony Khan Announcement Graphic

What better way to kick off the start of November than a brand-new AEW Dynamite? We have so many great match-ups on deck! Bullet Club Gold remains the bane of AEW World Champion MJF’s existence. They are set to face off in an eight-man tag team match with MJF’s partners, yet to be revealed; who will our scumbag call on to aid in this battle?

Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega team up again, this time to battle Jericho’s former fellow J.A.S. members, Daddy Magic and Cool Hand Ang. Hikaru Shida continues to prove herself a fighting champion as she will defend her AEW Women’s Championship against Willow Nightingale. Our focus will be the AEW International Championship as Orange Cassidy defends against Claudio Castagnoli!

Will Claudio get revenge for Bryan Danielson?

In the main event for AEW Dynamite last week, Bryan Danielson’s orbital bone was broken. He was teaming with Claudio Castagnoli against Orange Cassidy and “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada. It has come out since Danielson was injured in his previous match against Andrade El Idolo. That does not matter to Castagnoli.

The former Ring of Honor World Champion lays the blame at the feet of AEW’s “Freshly Squeezed” International Champion and wants vengeance on behalf of his Blackpool Combat Club stablemate and friend. If he can take Orange’s beloved championship, that’s just a bonus.

On the surface, Claudio is the favorite in this match-up. Former world champion, a great singles record, carved from granite, pound-for-pound one of the strongest wrestlers on the roster, and that’s not even factoring in he might be the most versatile in-ring competitor.

Orange Cassidy’s first run with the AEW International Championship proved he is one of the best in the world. Cassidy was on the verge of dropping the belt in numerous matches and always found a way to win.  Orange is my pick to walk away with the win and still AEW International Champion.
