AEW Dynamite is set to take place on May 27, 2026, at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after a historic and highly acclaimed AEW Double or Nothing 2026 PPV in Queens, NY. This will be a special three-hour event, airing both Dynamite and Collision.
At AEW Double or Nothing, we saw three new champions in MJF, Konosuke Takeshita, and Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. In the three best matches that night, Darby Allin failed to shave MJF bald, Kazuchika Okada failed to assert his superiority in the Don Callis Family against Takeshita, and FTR failed to disband the team of Cope and Cage.
In terms of title retentions at AEW Double or Nothing, Thekla retained the World Title in a fun fatal four-way against Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Kris Statlander. Jon Moxley also retained the AEW Continental Championship against Kyle O’ Reilly, making him tap out and finally getting revenge for the two times he tapped out to Kyle O’ Reilly back in 2025. In other news, Chris Jericho finally wrapped up his feud with Ricochet after leading his team with Hurt Syndicate and The Elite to victory in an epic Stadium Stampede match.

The Owen Hart Tournament is set to continue on AEW Dynamite this week, as it started off hot at AEW Double or Nothing 2026. Will Ospreay defeated Samoa Joe, and Swerve Strickland defeated Bandido to advance to the Owen Hart Semifinals. On the women’s side, Athena defeated Mina Shirakawa to advance to the Owen Hart Semifinals after Willow Nightingale vs. Alex Windsor got scrapped from the Owen Hart Tournament due to Nightingale’s unexpected injury that forced her to even relinquish the coveted TBS Title.
The other Owen Hart Tournament matches that still need to take place are: Alex Windsor vs. The Wild Card (who will replace Willow Nightingale), Persephone vs. Hazuki, Skye Blue vs. Saree, Jack Perry vs. Mark Davis, and Brody King vs. Claudio. Any of these matches could happen on Dynamite this week, as AEW is currently building up to the finals of these tournaments taking place at AEW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The winner of these tournaments will battle for the World Title at AEW All In in August.
At AEW Double or Nothing 2026, the fans also witnessed an epic return by Kyle Fletcher, who betrayed Konosuke Takeshita’s trust in the Don Callis Family and will be challenging him for the International Title. Also, the biggest talk of the town is Kevin Knight’s jaw-dropping heel turn in the finale of the show when he Frog Splashed Darby Allin while he was on a stretcher after his brutal World Title match against MJF. It will be interesting to see if Darby Allin seeks a consolation prize and targets Knight’s TNT Title for revenge.
Darby Allin was nothing but amicable to Kevin Knight, as he supported his title run and even handed him an AEW World Title shot as a sign of respect for his hard work ethic. Knight will have a lot of explaining to do, as his attack was out of pocket. Did MJF pay him to do that? Is Kevin Knight doing the Devil’s dirty work? Only time will tell, but MJF is moving on to new challengers. As he awaits the Owen Hart Winner, it will be intriguing to see who he feuds with in the interim as he opens the “forbidden door” this summer.
