All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite kicked off tonight with Orange Cassidy successfully defending the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Jay Lethal. Following the match, Cassidy was attacked by Jeff Jarrett. A video package from Tony Khan later in the broadcast announced that Orange Cassidy will defend the title next week, and it will be re-branded to the International Championship.

Khan explained in the video that Cassidy requested the match against Jarrett. Khan granted the match and explained that the title would be re-branded in connection with the new Warner Bros. Pictures film Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
The AEW All-Atlantic Championship was introduced at the AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) event Forbidden Door. PAC became the inaugural champion after defeating Clark Connors, Miro, and Malakai Black in a four-way match. The four competitors made it to Forbidden Door after advancing in a tournament that took place at both NJPW and AEW events.
Tony Khan explained that the defense of the belt next week in Canada will be the 5th international defense of the belt. It is also the only belt to be defended on international soil. PAC and Orange Cassidy are the only two to have held the belt with Cassidy being the longest holder of the two at 148 days and counting.
