Joe Hendry is the new IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion. He defeated Brian Myers on this week’s edition of IMPACT on AXS TV to become champion.
Joe Hendry Wins IMPACT Digital Media Championship
Those who believed in Joe Hendry were rewarded as he adds another title to his collection. Matt Cardona was there to provide backup for long-time friend and tag team partner Myers but it was not enough. New IMPACT Tag Team Champions Heath and Rhino came to the aid of Hendry and neutralized the threat of Cardona. With the distraction of Cardona out of the way, Hendry was able to pick up the win.
Hendry made his in-ring return to IMPACT at Bound for Glory in the Call Your Shot gauntlet after vignettes aired in previous weeks. This is the first championship win for Hendry in IMPACT Wrestling. He previously worked for IMPACT Wrestling in 2018 but did not win a championship during that run with the company.
Hendy’s career has seen him work in promotions such as DDT, ROH, British Revolution Wrestling, and more.
Hendry is the fifth champion in the history of the Digital Media Championship. The championship was introduced at Bound for Glory 2021 with Jordynne Grace winning the inaugural championship in a six-way match that also included Chelsea Green, Crazzy Steve, Fallah Bahh, John Skyler, and Madison Rayne.
