AEW Dark is back again this week, and it is loaded with eleven matches set to take place. Abadon has been unstoppable since her loss to Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. last October, and she looks to continue that run as she faces Nightmare Factory graduate Vicky Dreamboat. Speaking of Nightmare Factory, Trip Jordy also makes his debut against Jora Johl, who’s looking to rebound from a loss to Penta Oscuro. Our focus on this week’s AEW Dark will be singles action as Jay Lethal faces off with debuting former IMPACT Wrestling star Jake Something.

Jay Lethal vs. Jake Something
Jake Something looks to make a big impact (pun intended) in his AEW debut on Dark. He faces tough competition in Jay Lethal, but this match should be much more competitive than it looks. While Lethal is rightfully a highly regarded competitor, Jake has shown great potential, especially during his time in Impact.
Something is, at his core, a powerhouse wrestler and has spent a great deal of time in IMPACT Wrestling’s X-Division, a division Lethal both honed his craft and helped establish. I’m pointing that out as Something has shown he’s very adept at countering high-flying offense with his hard-hitting slams. He regularly gave top competitors such as Trey Miguel and Chris Bey some of their toughest matches during his time in IMPACT.
However, Lethal should still be the favorite in this one. Lethal holds countless titles in multiple promotions. He has an adaptable style that can change depending on the opponent; he now has a 7ft—2 in. tall insurance policy in Satnam Singh. Even if Jake Something starts to gain momentum, you can expect Sonjay Dutt to cause a distraction while Satnam interferes to put the match back in Lethal’s hands.
Either way, this should be a great match as Jake Something will no doubt be looking to show why he should be All Elite, and Lethal will continue to build momentum towards an eventual showdown with Samoa Joe.
