PG Superfight: Montero vs Leiter II – Full Card

PG Superfight Montero vs Leiter II Elimination Match

6-Man Proving Ground Elimination DLC Contenders Match: Steven Lust vs Jason Devine vs Shay Cash vs Joey Warner vs Derrick Conway vs Mike Graca

One of the things that can be most appreciated about this match is that it is elimination-style. One fall to a finish seems to be far too common these days and it doesn’t feel like the wrestlers are earning it in the same way. This match is full of names that may not be known but will be after this match. Steven Lust is no stranger to gold, but it might also be time for Mike Graca to shine. Shay Cash is certainly impressive, but this match is anyone’s to win since it is elimination-style and, as such, Cash could be ganged up on and eliminated early.

Kellan Thomas Frank Bones PG Superfight Montero vs Leiter II

“Riot” Kellan Thomas vs Frank Bones

“Riot” Kellan Thomas has signed a deal with Proving Ground, which means that not only will he be wrestling here but will receive neat merchandise such as an action figure! Frank Bones is in need of a win in Proving Ground, as he most recently came off of a loss to Foxy Calvin Campbell back in October in a DLC Last Call Match. This just shows that Bones is more than capable in the ring and should prove to be a tough test for Kellan Thomas. However, “Riot” Kellan Thomas is currently the holder of much gold within MA alone- being the Northeast Championship Wrestling New England Champion and Lucky Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. This should be a great match and “Riot” Kellan Thomas certainly should be looking to make a statement at PG Superfight: Montero vs Leiter II.

Anthony Greene vs Ricky Medeiros

Anthony Greene vs Ricky Medeiros

Anthony Greene makes his return to Proving Ground and he does so against someone who has been making a name for themselves in the New England area in Ricky Medeiros. Medeiros recently had a great match against Mike Montero in NCW and Greene has been known to only bring out the best in his opponents. This might feel like a big opportunity for Ricky Medeiros- and it is- but it’s also a chance for him to go out there and prove that he can hang with the best and Anthony Greene is among the best.

Tag Team Title Match PG Superfight Montero vs Leiter II

Proving Ground Tag Team Championship Match Street Fight: The Hispanic Mechanics (c) vs Security Inc

This match was originally supposed to feature the Brick City Boyz, but they were replaced by Security Inc. This change could come into play with The Hispanic Mechanics’ game plan. However, their plan should always just be to retain the PG Tag Team Championship. While this should be a good tag team match, it does not feel as if there will be new champs on this night.

Foxy Calvin Campbell vs Pimp Daddy Apple Cinnamon

DLC Championship Last Call Match: Foxy Calvin Campbell (c) vs Pimp Daddy Apple Cinnamon

Foxy Calvin Campbell is the DLC Champion and he has earned that title for a reason, but it would have to be assumed that Pimp Daddy Apple Cinnamon is looking to add some gold to his resume this year; what better place to start than right here? This is going to be an interesting match because it is a Last Call Match and both wrestlers- if nothing else- have to be known for their tough fighting styles. Whether their opponents are bigger or have been doing it longer, one thing Campbell and Cinnamon share in common is that it takes a lot to put them down and that is going to come out in this match, which should be fantastic.

Mike Montero vs Sean Leiter

Proving Ground Championship: Mike Montero (c) vs Sean Leiter

This is it – the name on the poster. This feels like a big fight because it is a big fight. Back in May of 2018, Sean Leiter defeated Mike Montero on the Proving Ground show, Level One!. Though they would have another one-on-one encounter in ElkMania in June of 2018, this would be their defining match in Proving Ground. Fast forward to Level 3 in Match of 2019, where Mike Montero won the vacant Proving Ground Championship in a Five-Way Ladder Match also involving Leiter, Derrick Conway, Kevin Gyles, and Shay Cash.

January 15th, 2022: Sean Leiter wins the 30 Man North Shore Rumble. This earned him this title shot, and now, Leiter is not only looking to avenge that loss back in 2018 but prove that he can be Proving Ground Champion. However, Mike Montero is a worthy champion. Over the past two or three years, Montero has picked up wins over names such as TJ Crawford, Christian Casanova, Mike Skyros, Love Doug, Dick Lane, and Davienne. Both of these wrestlers really just feel like they’re hitting their stride, moving at top speed. When they collide this weekend, it’s going to be a must-see.

All of this plus Tony Spencer issues an All-Star Bay State Open Challenge, Derek Simonetti returns to address the future, and more! It all goes down on Saturday, March 19, 2022. For tickets and more information, click here.
