Preview: AEW Dynamite (12/15/21) – Winter Is Coming

Hangman Danielson AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming

Disdain cold as ice, rivalries intense as fire, All Elite Wrestling has everything for its #AllElite fans come this Wednesday night on a special edition of AEW Dynamite dubbed as Winter Is Coming. The second installment of the event has been highly anticipated for over a year now due to the many noteworthy moments that came about last year. These include Sting’s debut in AEW and return to TNT, as well Kenny Omega shocking the world by winning the AEW World Championship, from Jon Moxley. Many are excited at the prospect of what fans could witness on this year’s Winter Is Coming. Knowing AEW, they might just have things up their sleeve making this event a “can’t miss ” for anybody who’s an All Elite Wrestling fan.

On this week’s Dynamite, the one who will possess the Dynamite Diamond Ring will be decided as the two-time winner of the hardware will go up against one of AEW’s brightest young stars. Two of the best wrestlers in the AEW women’s division collide once again and they’re looking to draw blood in this rivalry that has seemingly reached its fever pitch. Last but not least, “The American Dragon” aims to fulfill his prophecy and pry away the AEW World Championship from the Hangman. There will be a lot more than that coming your way this Wednesday night. So, let’s get the ball rolling. It’s Wednesday night after all, and you know what that means. Time for some Dynamite! Let’s run it down.

AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming Match Card

  • Matt Sydal vs. Wardlow
  • Serena Deeb vs. Hikaru Shida
  • Dynamite Diamond Final: MJF vs. Dante Martin
  • AEW World Championship: Hangman Page (c) vs. Bryan Danielson

Settling Differences

Two of the best wrestlers in the world go at it as Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb look to settle this blood feud once and for all with the third match in this epic rivalry. Deeb took the first match preventing Shida from getting to 50 wins initially. The former relished in the fact that she was responsible for prolonging Shida’s crowning achievement. It didn’t stop there, as for months now, these two have been at each other’s throats inside and outside the ring. Like moths to a flame, they continue to assault one another every chance they got.

Shida and Deeb once again met in the first round of the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament wherein Shida exacted some revenge at the expense of her bitter rival. Shortly thereafter, Deeb cost Shida the opportunity to advance to the semifinals, as she lent a helping hand to the “Native Beast” Nyla Rose and, in the process, crushed Shida’s dreams of becoming the first-ever TBS Champion. What started out as healthy competition turned into something more progressively personal and none of these women will let up until they’re victorious. It’s Shida versus Deeb III. And, it all goes down live on AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming live on TNT!

Making Good On A Promise?

We saw the AEW World Championship change hands at this very event last year; will history repeat itself once more? Bryan Danielson seems to think so. Ever since Danielson won the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament back at Full Gear, he has been carrying himself like an uncrowned champion. This rubbed the current reigning AEW World Champion, Hangman Page, the wrong way. Danielson took it a step further and stated his excitement died down because he anticipated Kenny Omega to be his opponent as he claims the title for himself. Page did not take too kindly to this and would go on to say at least he actually beat Omega. The war of words was intense between the two from day one, leading to various brawls that AEW management had to step in, preventing them from ever laying a hand on one another before this epic matchup.

Danielson unleashed his aggression on The Dark Order and dismantled them in a gruesome fashion to send a message to Page; message received. Page will only take these statements to further fuel himself up for this encounter. It’s “The American Dragon” going up against some “Cowboy Sh-t” for all the marbles on this year’s edition of Winter Is Coming! Will Bryan Danielson taste world championship gold once more and kick Hangman Page’s head in? Or will Adam Page slay the dragon and retain AEW World Championship?
