Pro Wrestling NOAH News: Title Matches for Demolition Stage 2021

Demolition Stage 2021 Matches

Pro Wrestling NOAH recently held Grand Square 2021 in OSAKA. This event featured two brand new champions in NOSAWA Rongai, Eita, and Katsuhiko Nakajima. NOAH goes into its next tour with its Demolition Stage 2021 tour. It will consist of multiple events going into November, with the conclusion of this series of events on November 13. Here are the title matches confirmed by NOAH.

Demolition Stage 2021 Title Matches

GHC National Championship Match

During the Grand Square show, Masaaki Mochizuki faced off in tag action against Takashi Sugiura. Mochizuki would pick up the win over the GHC National Champion. Thus, Mochizuki was in line for a title match. Sugiura marks his third title defense here; his last defenses were against Kazushi Sakuraba and Masato Tanaka. This is the first-time match between Mochizuki and Sugiura. Both men boast decades of wrestling experience. Mochizuki came to NOAH in early 2020 via the company’s partnership with Dragon Gate. This match also marks Mochizuki’s first singles championship shot in Pro Wrestling NOAH. This will happen on Go on to the DEMOLITION STAGE on October 28.

GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

At Grand Square 2021, NOSAWA Rongai and Eita won GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in a major upset. NOSAWA Rongai, being the head booker of Pro Wrestling NOAH, wanted to face off against HAYATA, who recently defeated Daisuke Harada to retain his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. These two don’t have a major history in Pro Wrestling NOAH; their history revolves around standard tag and trios tag team work. They faced each other in Global Junior League tournaments, but in terms of title matches, Rongai hasn’t competed for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship in his over 25-year career. This will happen on Demolition Stage 2021 in Fukuoka on October 30.

GHC Heavyweight Championship Match

At Grand Square 2021, Katsuhiko Nakajima defeated Naomichi Marufuji to capture the GHC Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career. After the match, Nakajima was challenged by Masato Tanaka, one of the most brutal strikers in Pro Wrestling NOAH and Japanese wrestling at large. Nakajima and Tanaka have a history going back to the opening night of this year’s N-1 Victory

In the N-1 Victory, Nakajima lost to Tanaka, which was Nakajima’s only loss in the tournament. This isn’t the only time that they’ve faced. They wrestled in the 2017 Global League. Additionally, they competed in tag team and trios action. Their upcoming Demolition Stage 2021 encounter will be a match filled with brutal elbows and kicks. It could also be one of defining matches of October. This will happen on Demolition Stage 2021 in Fukuoka on October 30th.

Synopsis of Demolition Stage 2021 So Far

One apparent detail for these shows is the missing GHC Tag Team Championship. While current titleholders Kaito Kiyomiya and Masa Kitamiya are present during the tour, they haven’t defended the titles since winning them back in July. The GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions lack obvious contenders, too. As noted from an interview, however, a title match could feature the partnership with Dragon Gate as Rongai and Eita’s first title defense. This could happen in Dragon Gate or during the later Demolition Stage events in early November.
