Nick Aldis Competes In WWE
Nick Aldis’s tenure as SmackDown General Manager is coming to an end. After a great stint as the blue brand’s top brass, Aldis looks to be stepping back into the ring. For those only following WWE, Aldis has been a great General Manager, using his authority to tip the scales in favor of fairness.
It has been 3 years since Nick Aldis took over the helm on SmackDown, but these past few months have seen him move away from the role. Gunther has been at odds with SmackDown’s GM for months now, going so far as to attack Aldis, choking him out. This violence has led us to SummerSlam, where the two will clash. WWE knows what Gunther brings to the table, but some might not be aware of the incredible talent that Nick Aldis has backing him up.
In TNA, he was Magnus; in NWA, he went by Nick Aldis, but in both organizations, he was a World Champion. Aldis captured 3 World Championships across NWA and TNA, establishing himself as a great heel who used his technical knowledge to overpower his opponent.
His style of working mirrors Gunther’s in a way that will make their match great. Aldis has a chance to step into the ring for the first time in 3 years, and the first time in WWE. The WWE Universe will have their chance to see Nick Aldis make his debut and bring his talents into the ring. If he even brings half of the talent that made him a success in previous organizations, this match will be worth the watch at SummerSlam.
Will Cody Rhodes or CM Punk Turn Heel at SummerSlam 2026?
Cody Rhodes and CM Punk’s SummerSlam main event will be a classic match. They are at the top of the company, are adept at storytelling, and can have a great match with just about anyone. WWE needed to promote a huge main event for the Biggest Party of the Summer, and this pairing is a great option.
It started with a simple request of “when”, and has sparked something that has turned personal in the blink of an eye. It’s the action that will carry the match, but it’s the result that should have everyone tuning in.
These two massively over-babyfaces have been riding the fence for a while now. Rhodes and Punk are divisive talents, and the rumors of a character shift have been floating around for a while. Both men are desperate to get back or hold onto their spot in the main event, and it’s not outside the realm of possibility for Rhodes or Punk to turn heel.
The justification is there for either man to break some rules to capture the WWE Championship. The main event is special enough, but the chance to see either of these huge stars turn heel is worth taking a peek at SummerSlam.
