WWE NXT Review – The Nygma’s View

Kendal Grey kicks off the show

The new NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey confessed that she was more nervous coming out here to talk than wrestling in the main event on Sunday. Talking and doing these things aren’t what she was good at. Ever since John Cena picked her to be in the Iron Survivor challenge, her life has changed. She heard the people’s expectations, and that put pressure on her, but no one puts more pressure on her than herself.

She will be nervous when she talks to you, and she might not sound like a champion, but she will wrestle like a champion. Grey confirmed that she is ready to take this division to a new level. Everyone in the locker room will soon find out that they can’t keep up with Kendal Grey. Wren Sinclair came out with a cake to celebrate, but Kelani Jordan interrupted them. Tatum Paxley showed up from the crowd and hit a crossbody onto Jordan from the ringside barrier. Grey and Sinclair ate cake while this happened.

The Vanity Project retains

Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes staved off a serious threat to their NXT Tag Team Title as they extinguished AAA’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno. The challengers had a significant power advantage, but they also used their sneaky athleticism to keep the champions off their game. The Champions weathered the storm, and thanks to a timely distraction from Jackson Drake, Baylor and Smokes executed a perfect leg sweep/top rope stomp to retain their gold.

Jackson Drake Myka Lockwood defeated Mason Rook

Jackson Drake earned a major victory over Mason Rook, but he paid dearly for it. Both Superstars went all out as Drake hit a remarkable Lionsault-esque double stomp, while Rook hit an incredible Blue Thunderbomb. However, not even a massive sit-out powerbomb was enough to give Rook the win.

The numbers advantage of Vanity Project proved to be the difference as Ricky Smokes distracted Rook and Myka Lockwood held down Rook to give Drake the win. After the match, Rook went on a rampage and took out the entire Vanity Project.
