King & Queen of the Ring Starts on WWE Raw
King of the Ring Competitors
The King of the Ring tournament will offer one male superstar the chance to etch their name in the record books and receive a main title match. Cody Rhodes’ victory in the tournament in 2025 has helped to elevate what once felt like a mid-card accomplishment. We know Trick Williams is in the tournament, and it would be fun to see him on WWE Raw.
Should Gunther fail to beat Rhodes for the WWE Championship at Clash in Italy, “The Ring General” might look to earn a near-instant shot at him by winning the tournament. Gunther’s 2024 King of the Ring win spearheaded his World Championship reign.
LA Knight was given the honor of announcing the tournament, so it would seem bloody mean if the “Megastar” wasn’t offered a place in the bracket. But Bron Breakker is surely the superstar who should win the tournament and spear himself to win the World Heavyweight Championship finally. But we’ve been pushing for this for over a year now. Oba Femi should 100% be in the tournament, but is it too soon for “The Ruler” to rule WWE?
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre haven’t been seen since WWE WrestleMania 42. The King of the Ring tournament would offer both a perfect chance to return and reassert their dominance over their WWE male counterparts. Neither Punk nor McIntyre has ever been crowned King of the Ring. This seems to be a blip on their records that needs amending.
A newly-unmasked Chad Gable should 100% be in the tournament now that he’s left El Grande Americano behind. It would be lovely to see him go all the way and challenge at the top of the card, but there are some much bigger hitters about.
Queen of the Ring
The Queen of the Ring is just as unpredictable and interesting. Perhaps this tournament would be a good excuse for Charlotte Flair to remember that she is a queen and people should be bowing down to her. Flair and her super best friend, Alexa Bliss, meeting in the tournament would be newsworthy.

Sol Ruca should be in the bracket and perhaps progress quite far. But it’s Lash Legend who seems ready to use the tournament to propel herself to the next step on the WWE ladder. It is also hard to look past The Judgment Day chicas. Raquel Rodriguez could be a really dominant champion one day, and her hand being forced to step away from Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring would be good TV. Do we still call it TV? Is it good streaming?
Also, Stephanie Vaquer needs to remain near the top of the division, and this is a perfect way to do that. Oh, and finally. IYO IYO IYO!
WWE Clash in Italy Fallout
As well as the WWE King & Queen of the Ring, we will also see all the fallout from WWE Clash in Italy. Will there be a new Tribal Chief in Jacob Fatu? Or will Roman Reigns be back firmly at the top of the Bloodline?
Sol Ruca could have the WWE Intercontinental Championship around her waist, or wherever cool surfer chicks wear WWE titles—maybe hanging out the back of her pants? But it seems more likely she will have the major backing of WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, who will be on a crusade against a nefarious Becky Lynch.
