WWE SmackDown Predictions are here for May 1, 2026. WWE is coming fresh off a historic WrestleMania PLE and is now on the road to SummerSlam in August. On Raw, Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan are now running the show as world champions after dethroning CM Punk and Stephanie Vaquer, respectively, at WrestleMania.
Here, on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes is still the WWE Champion after retaining the title against Randy Orton and Rhea Ripley has moved from Raw to SmackDown as the new WWE Champion after dethroning Jade Cargill at WrestleMania. It is easy to find these champions, but they are certainly hard to beat.
Last week on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, WWE kicked off their build to Backlash, where Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu for the World Title, Iyo Sky vs. Asuka, and Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker are scheduled to take place.
WWE has not booked any SmackDown feuds on the card yet. Trick Williams, who dethroned Sami Zayn at Mania to become the new U.S. Champion, was ambushed by the Gingerbread Man. Since Zayn has a rematch clause, WWE could add that title match to the Backlash card. In other news, Tiffany Stratton dethroned Giulia to become the new U.S. Champ, and Danhausen invaded The Miz’s home in a humorous skit.
This week on SmackDown, one match is scheduled: Charlotte Flair vs. Jacy Jayne. This match is taking place after Jacy Jayne and her sidekicks, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reed, from Fatal Influence got called up from NXT and turned the women’s division upside down with their heinous attacks.
Speaking of NXT call-ups, more are expected. While Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, and Sol Ruca got called up to Raw, Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe are expected to debut this week on SmackDown. This should elicit fresh feuds that the fans can get excited about. With that being said, it is now time for this week’s SmackDown Predictions. Will Jacy Jayne fluster Charlotte Flair?
Charlotte Flair vs. Jacy Jayne
Indeed, she will do just that. This feels like picking the lesser of two evils because Jayne has been an insufferable character on NXT, and Flair has also been an insufferable character on television for the past decade. Since Jayne is the fresher talent, WWE might as well book a nefarious victory for the heel so that she can have a strong start to her main roster career.
This could also be a DQ finish, in which Flair is on the brink of winning the match with the Figure Eight Submission before Fatal Influence decides to attack Flair to save Jayne from further anguish. Either way, the fans are better off going outside to get ice cream with friends this Friday night.
Prediction: Jacy Jayne
