Ever since becoming a free agent a few months ago, Oba Femi has done nothing but eat, sleep, and destroy. He continued that pattern on Monday night when a chance encounter with Grayson Waller led to Femi’s easiest challenge yet. Backstage, Waller was with Adam Pearce when he referred to Femi as “Oba-rated.” Well, little did he know, but the Ruler was standing right behind him. Femi told Waller he was complaining about opportunity, well, lucky him, as one just fell in his lap.
Exactly what you think happened, happened as Femi made quick work of Waller in a sub-two-minute squash. Then, Femi got on the mic to make an announcement that is sure to change everything in the Raw locker room.
The Oba Femi Open Challenge
Oba Femi observed that no one cares what happens to Grayson Waller, but the man did have one thing right when he spoke about opportunity and lack thereof. Femi observed that all of the titles currently had challengers, and the new United States Champion seemed to have no interest in continuing that title’s tradition of open challenges. So Femi decided to step up with an answer to that problem.
Starting on Monday, Femi is introducing the Oba Femi Open Challenge to anyone in the back who wants to see how they measure up against the Ruler. Femi said whoever would come to answer the challenge would be in for a fight because Femi wasn’t just going to beat them, he was going to destroy them, massacre them, and punish them. He promised to be relentless because whoever answered his challenge wasn’t just stepping into the ring with any wrestler; they were going head-to-head against the Ruler.
Femi effectively put the Raw locker room on notice, and Grayson Waller, let that be an example to anyone else in the back as the Oba Femi Squash Era is officially upon us. Let’s see who’s left that WWE didn’t release, who will be his next victim.
