For the past couple of months, NXT has gotten a musical upgrade with Joe Hendry. His catchy theme song and upbeat lyrics have made fans happy to have him around. They’ve also been thankful for his wrestling, as he was the NXT Champion for 60 days. But the past couple of weeks have acted as a farewell for him.
He lost the NXT Championship to Tony D’Angelo at NXT Stand and Deliver, then teased going to the main roster on the April 14, 2026, episode of NXT before getting attacked by Keanu Carver. It was confirmed on April 20, Monday Night Raw, that he would be called up to the main roster. However, he had to fight Carver on night 2 of NXT Revenge. Would he end his NXT run on a high note, or would Carver pick up the victory?
Carver Sends Hendry to Raw in Statement Win
WWE is clearly shaping Carver up to be the next dominant heel on the brand. From his fights with Booker T to his rivalry with Jasper Troy and Josh Briggs, he uses intimidation to his advantage. That’s what happened last Tuesday when he attacked Hendry. Would he use that intimidation to get himself the win?
The match started with Hendry immediately chopping Carver, but he quickly got thrown into the turnbuckle. He sent Carver into the same turnbuckle and chopped him some more. However, he nearly got lifted up for a slam, but kicked Carver and tackled his leg to send him to the mat. Then a hit to his neck led to a failed pinfall. Carver got him to the corner and hit him in the chest and stomach, sending him to the ground.
After he got up, Hendry was sent from turnbuckle to turnbuckle before getting hoisted onto Carver’s shoulders. Once he got down, he sent him into the ropes and out of the ring. When both men were in the ring, they locked up before Hendry elbowed Carver. But Carver threw him down with a German Suplex before once again picking him up and sending him to the ground with two backbreakers. After he got up, he dodged a running Carver, sending him into the ringpost. That gave him momentum as he punched Carver before giving him a fallaway slam.
But Carver clotheslined him and delivered a spinebuster before elbowing him several times. That led the referee to call the match, giving Carver the victory. Unfortunately, Hendry couldn’t match the power and strength of a dominant Carver. But he can now go to the main roster after a successful NXT run.
