DarkState debuted as a fearsome group at NXT Vengeance Day last year. Things started great for them. They picked up victories, showing that their methods weren’t just for show. The four men actually backed up their claims with impressive in-ring action. It wasn’t long until they started picking up championship gold. They had two reigns as NXT Tag Team Champions. Their first reign was 44 days long before they lost to the Hardy Boyz. They regained the championship, with their second reign lasting 122 days.
However, during that second reign, Dion Lennox embarked on a solo run. He’s been very impressive, but Saquon Shugars hasn’t been amused. He thinks Lennox is putting himself before the group, but is constantly told that this run will help everyone. Will this side quest bring the group together or tear them apart?
Borne Gets the Better of Lennox and Shugars in Attack
Myles Borne has had a long journey to get where he is today. He signed in 2022, competing on Level Up, and later on NXT with the No Quarter Catch Crew. When he left, he too started a solo journey. He had his ups and downs, but he ended up becoming a champion. On February 24, 2026, in an episode of NXT, he defeated Ethan Page to become the NXT North American Champion. At Stand & Deliver, he defeated Johnny Gargano in a great match.
But afterward, Lennox attacked him, signaling that he was going to be the next challenger. However, when he got to the back, Shugars and the rest of DarkState confronted him. He continued to tell them that things would be good, which led to Night 1 of NXT Revenge. Borne recapped Stand & Deliver and how Lennox ruined his retention. DarkState then arrived to confront him.
Lennox said that the title is the future of DarkState, going along with what he’s been telling everyone else. Borne said that he could either have the match or let his faction attack him. But if that is allowed, the title match might not happen. Shugars interrupted, saying that there’s no leader and that no one cares about the match. Lennox replied with the assertion that the title is the future.
Shugars questioned that before running directly into the ring with Borne. He got sent to the mat before the other members of DarkState pulled him out of the ring. Cutler James and Osiris Griffin then had to separate Lennox and Shugars as Borne watched. It seems that things might have to be resolved before Borne gets his match. No matter what happens, it’s clear that the actions of Lennox could forever change DarkState.
