The February 24, 2026, episode of NXT was an extremely important one for Ethan Page. He was the NXT North American Champion, which he won last May. The previous week, he defeated Shiloh Hill to retain the championship. He probably thought he was going to be the greatest North American Champion of all time.
His claim would be backed up if he walked out of next week’s NXT as the still champion. He would pass Oba Femi’s 273-day reign to become the longest reigning North American Champion.
But after the match, Myles Borne arrived to stomp on his right leg with a chair and potentially keep Femi’s record intact. It was announced that their match would take place next week on NXT. Page winning would secure his spot in the record books. Borne winning would make an uphill climb worth it. Who walked out as NXT North American Champion?
Borne Shocks Everyone by Winning the North American Championship
Page finally had Femi’s record in sight, but Borne ruined that hope. With that in mind, neither man was going to go down without a fight. The match began with Borne pointing to Page’s leg before locking up with him. They went back and forth before he stomped on his leg again. He then hit him with a slingshot suplex, making him roll out of the ring to the outside. Recovering quickly, Page delivered Ego’s Edge onto the announcer’s table.
After getting back in the ring, they traded unsuccessful pinfalls, with Borne hitting a fisherman’s suplex and Page delivering a powerslam. Page then threw every move he had at Borne, including Ego’s Edge.
He threw him into the corner and started chopping him. After climbing the ropes, a Superplex sent both men crashing down to the mat, and getting up led to an exchange of punches, and Borne hitting Page with Borne Again.
Immediately after, Jackson Drake and the Vanity Project arrived, with Drake hitting Borne with the Evolve Men’s Championship. Page crawled to the cover, but Borne kicked out. Hank & Tank and Shiloh Hill came out and attacked the Vanity Project.
Ricky Saints arrived and started climbing the top rope, but NXT Champion Joe Hendry arrived to stop the attack. The two got to their feet, with Borne getting out of Ego’s Edge and pushing Page towards the turnbuckle. Page elbowed Borne, then went for Twisted Grin before getting pushed to the turnbuckle again.
Borne then delivered another Borne Again, getting the pinfall and becoming North American Champion. It took a long time, but he is finally a champion in NXT. With Vengeance Day, Roadblock, and Stand & Deliver in the next seven weeks, it’s clear he’ll have to be very focused to keep his championship.
