Seth Rollins v Drew McIntyre (World Heavyweight Championship Match; WrestleMania 41, Night Two)
Seth Rollins was the workhorse champion that the World Heavyweight Championship needed. He brought legitimacy to the championship, and headed into WrestleMania 41, he and Drew McIntyre had a workhorse match. It started with a shocking Claymore that made the world believe that it would be over in a matter of seconds. Following that great swerve, we got 10 incredible minutes of each man trying to hit home runs whenever he could.
There was not going to be a slow burn for this match; it was a war of attrition that ended when Seth Rollins couldn’t go on. He was burned out from competing the night before, and McIntyre took advantage of that exhaustion.
This WrestleMania opener proved that the minutes don’t need to go long for a huge impact to be had. This was a hot opener that had everyone wanting more, and it was also perfect to see Drew McIntyre get his title victory in front of an audience.
