NXT Vengeance Day was filled with action, emotion, and great wrestling. However, a big part of the show didn’t happen in a match. NXT General Manager Robert Stone had his own segment regarding the NXT Women’s Championship. Current champion Jacy Jayne faced both Sol Ruca and Zaria in consecutive weeks. Zaria’s opportunity came after she betrayed Ruca to cost her the title. Jayne came out first, followed by Zaria.
She said that she was tired of being in the middle of their intense breakup. Zaria said that Ruca was the one who held her down, prompting Ruca to come out as well. The three women argued before they started fighting each other. In an effort to restore order, Stone announced a triple threat match on the March 17, 2026, episode of NXT. Which woman will walk out of Houston as NXT Women’s Champion?
Jayne Will Easily Retain the Title
Jayne has had great runs as NXT Women’s Champion. She won the title back at NXT Gold Rush from Tatum Paxley, who ended her 150-day reign and held it for 24 days. Combined, she has held the title for over 250 days. She has defeated women such as Jordynne Grace, Lola Vice, and Stephanie Vaquer, whom she took the title from to begin her first run. Given her opponents, she doesn’t have to do much to retain.
In a triple threat match, anyone can take the pin. With Zaria and Ruca still at odds, they’ll probably fight each other more than Jayne. She can easily pin one of them when they’re not paying attention to her and retain the championship. The structure of the match and the competitors are definite signs that next Tuesday’s match will be an easy victory for her.
Ruca Will Become the New Champion
Ruca and Zaria are both challenging Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship. However, Ruca has the slight advantage over Zaria to become NXT Women’s Champion if Jayne loses.
She has prior championship experience, being the Speed Champion for 200 days and the NXT Women’s North American Champion for 189 days. She vacated the Speed Championship due to injury. Zaria fought on her behalf to reclaim the Women’s North American Championship due to the same injury, but she lost to Blake Monroe.
Her loss to Monroe may have looked accidental at the time. But knowing her true feelings, there’s some evidence that she purposely cost Ruca the title. Not only that, but Ruca lost in four seconds to Jayne. She has major issues with the other women in the triple threat match. Her championship experience and feelings towards Jayne and Ruca make a compelling case for her to be champion.
Zaria Will Be the Woman Left Standing
When Zaria debuted in NXT in October 2024, there was a lot of hype surrounding her. She was a star on the Australian independent circuit, with many fans excited for her to come to NXT. However, she has spent most of her time in a tag team with Ruca. That has led her to not much success, which she basically told Jayne on Saturday.
All of her time was wasted with Ruca instead of chasing singles achievements. That’s why her winning is a real possibility. She has been with Ruca for over a year, letting big opportunities pass her by.
Becoming NXT Women’s Champion will finally show everyone that she can be a singles star in NXT. She wants to beat Jayne. She’s the current champion, and Ruca, because she has cost her so much in her career already. If she stays motivated, she could become a champion next Tuesday.
Which Woman Will Be Champion?
With Stand & Deliver in less than four weeks, everyone will be competing for a spot on the card. Jayne wants to keep her spot. Doing so requires her to stay WWE Women’s Champion. However, that will be easier said than done. She has a tough task ahead of her, as she’ll be competing in a triple threat match for the title.
Her opponents, Sol Ruca and Zaria, have just been through a nasty breakup that’s been anticipated for a while now. A retention could be as simple as letting them fight each other and then pinning one of them.
However, their motivations to become champions could cost her the title. Ruca wants to be a champion again, and Zaria wants her first title in WWE. No matter who wins, the triple threat match will definitely be a highly anticipated match for many reasons.
