The Final Bell: Ranking the 5 Best WWE Retirement Stipulation Matches

  1. Randy Savage vs. The Ultimate Warrior (WrestleMania 7, 1991)

On the grandest stage of them all, Randy “Macho Man” Savage and the Ultimate Warrior battled in a clash of titans that had fans engaged from the moment that the bell rang to the final three-count.

What made this high-stakes match so compelling was that both men were putting their careers on the line, with the winner continuing to wrestle and the loser forced to retire.

One of the most notable moments of the bout was when Savage delivered five consecutive Flying Elbow Drops, but to Savage’s shock, Warrior managed to kick out. In the end, Warrior won the match by delivering three running shoulder blocks, famously pinning Savage with a foot on his chest.

However, the most memorable moment of this iconic classic took place in the ten minutes after the bell rang, as Savage was attacked by his manager, Queen Sherri, for losing. He ended up being saved when Miss Elizabeth, his former love interest, jumped from the crowd to intervene. Their long-awaited reunion is recognized as one of the greatest “happily ever after” moments in WWE history.
