WWE Raw Impacted by Winter Weather Due to Biggest Single Day Storm in Toronto History

As Saturday Night’s Main Event ended – and even before – WWE talent jumped in rented vans and made the five-or-so-hour trek from Montreal to Toronto, where Raw is being held on Monday. WWE had a contingency plan in place for the winter storm that is impacting millions of North Americans, particularly those on the East Coast and throughout Canada. In fact, Toronto experienced the biggest single-day snowfall in its history, with over 18 inches falling, and many residents are still digging themselves out this morning.

While it is believed that WWE’s backup plan worked, and all of the talent needed for Raw (save for Alicia Taylor, who Lillian Garcia will replace) will be at the show, there is still the question of how everyone else in the near sold-out show might find their way there in the midst of recovering from blizzard-like conditions.

Here’s what we know about tonight so far.

WWE may have lost a battle to the World Wildlife Foundation, but it’s seemingly not losing one to a record snowstorm. With the snow in the forecast for a week or so, WWE had time to prepare. They are flying talent out to Saudi Arabia early to make sure things are set for Friday’s SmackDown and the Royal Rumble. They bused talent from Montreal to Toronto to account for thousands of flight cancellations. And with only one match booked on the card for tonight, they left themselves some flexibility should travel issues arise.

As of now, there have been no reports of talent unavailable for tonight as WWE seems to have prioritized getting wrestlers needed for Raw to Toronto. Others who are not needed for Raw or the upcoming Saudi shows, are reportedly stranded in Montreal for the time being with plans to fly them home or to the next destination as soon as conditions make it possible. In short, it looks like WWE 1 winter storm 0, though we will find out more tonight on how the weather has impacted the company’s plans.
