1. Steve Austin
One of the most prolific performers in the history of the Royal Rumble is Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake only competed in six Royal Rumble matches, but his conversion rate was excellent. Austin is the only man in WWE history to win the Royal Rumble match three times, which is a ridiculously good achievement.
Austin eliminated a whopping 10 wrestlers from the 1997 Royal Rumble match. However, his win was controversial as Bret Hart eliminated him from the Rumble, but the referee didn’t see it.
Austin took advantage, and he eliminated the Hitman to win the ’97 Rumble. However, a year later, Austin was public enemy number one in the 1998 Royal Rumble match. Austin entered 24th, and he cleaned out the house. He and The Rock were the final two competitors, and Austin eliminated The Rock to become the third man to win back-to-back Rumbles in successive years.
With the win, Austin challenged an injured Shawn Michaels in the main event of WrestleMania 14 for the WWE Championship. Austin prevailed to win his first WWE Championship. However, once again, Austin entered the 2001 Royal Rumble match, and the bout was star-studded.
Nevertheless, Austin eliminated Haku, Billy Gunn, and Kane to win the 2001 Royal Rumble match. Furthermore, Austin converted another Rumble win into the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 17, as he dethroned Rock for the gold in a No Disqualification match.
