4. Cody Rhodes
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes returned to in-ring competition after seven months on the sidelines with a torn pec in the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match. Rhodes entered the Rumble from the luxurious 30th position. However, Rhodes was on a rampage as he eliminated Dominik Mysterio, Braun Strowman, Austin Theory, and Logan Paul.
Moreover, for the first time in Royal Rumble match history, the number one and 30th entrants were the final two participants. The Intercontinental Champion Gunther entered first, but Rhodes eliminated him to win his first men’s Royal Rumble match.
Cody Rhodes fans were disappointed that Rhodes failed to beat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39. However, the American Nightmare participated in the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble match as the 15th entrant. Once again, he was determined to finish the story.
Furthermore, Rhodes and CM Punk were the final two, slugging it out in the Rumble. Ultimately, Rhodes overcame the Second City Saint to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches. With the victory, Rhodes became the first back-to-back Royal Rumble match winner in 26 years.
