5 WWE Legends with Shockingly Bad Royal Rumble Performances

Booker T

Royal Rumble 2002

Entrant Number 30
Time In The Match 0:33
Number Of Eliminations 1 (Rob Van Dam)
Eliminated By Stone Cold Steve Austin

Booker T made his Royal Rumble Match debut in 2002. While he wasn’t the biggest name in the match, one would assume Booker would have a good showing especially since he’d been an essential member of The Alliance the previous year.

The luck of the draw was on Booker’s side, as he was the last man to enter the 2002 Royal Rumble. Booker came in like a house of fire – eliminating Rob Van Dam, doing the Spinaroonie and… that was it. Once Booker got up, he ate a Stone Cold Stunner from Steve Austin that sent The Book flying over the top rope to the floor.

Entrant Number 13
Time In The Match 0:18
Number Of Eliminations None
Eliminated By Chris Benoit

Somehow, Booker T had an even worse showing four years later, at Royal Rumble 2006. Despite holding the WWE United States Championship at the time, Booker was thrown out by Chris Benoit – his US Title challenger – in just 18 seconds.

To be fair, Booker had been injured heading into this show (Randy Orton even won the US Title for the injured Booker weeks earlier) which explains his quick elimination.
