The December 19, 2025, taping for the December 26, 2025, edition of WWE SmackDown was packed with a ton of action and developing stories. To kick off 2026 on the right note on January 2, when WWE SmackDown goes back to three hours, a couple of big matches were announced for the show, and we deliver in this WWE SmackDown spoilers for next week’s show.
First, WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill will take on Michin for the championship. These two have been going back and forth for the past couple of weeks, and they finally settle the score to ring in the new year. Speaking of animosity, Damian Priest and Aleister Black write another page in their intense rivalry, as they go one-on-one on the first SmackDown of 2026.
Probably the most chaotic bout for the January 2, 2026, installment will involve Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss taking on multiple teams to secure their spot as the number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

If you thought the December 26, 2025, edition of SmackDown was chaotic, the first SmackDown of the new year will lay on the action thick. Two matches involving championships, as well as a grudge match that will seemingly be the end for a intense blood feud.
