Despite Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho having a few singles matches between 2009 and 2013, they have never had a feud inside the WWE ring. This, however, is not the most intriguing element for a potential storyline between these two. Both superstars departed WWE in 2019 for the newly formed AEW, where they had a significant feud in the early days of the company.
Jericho, as the inaugural AEW World Champion, battled Rhodes for the title in what would be the first pivotal storyline of the young company. Both men took their feud to intense, deeply personal levels, which blurred the lines between storyline and real life, with Jericho verbally attacking Rhodes’s family.
With Rhodes, the current holder of the Undisputed WWE Champion, a storyline between the two would be an interesting turn from their battles in AEW when Jericho was the title holder.
Seeing Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes taking their AEW feud to the WWE stage would be massive for fans, bringing instant high-stakes drama and providing a chance to see their historic rivalry reignite and continue on the biggest stage.
