1. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella – Divas Title Match
The Match:
This match inspired my idea to create this article. At 34 seconds, this match is truly the worst Women’s Survivor Series match ever. Every year, I am unfortunately reminded of this match, and this year is no different. I hate this match with a passion, and you should too.
It is the ultimate testament to the objectification of women in WWE before the recent Women’s Revolution. It also degraded any remaining legacy, heritage, or history the Divas Championship had at this point. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella at Survivor Series 2014 is my personal least favorite match of all time.
I remember being a young girl, watching this match. I was so excited to see my favorite, Nikki Bella (I was a kid, okay?), try to win AJ Lee’s championship in an epic battle. Only for Brie Bella to kiss AJ Lee while holding the belt, and Nikki to use that to win. After a bad forearm and even worse Rack Attack, Nikki Bella becomes the new Divas Champion.

I genuinely don’t understand how this match is still uploaded onto WWE’s official YouTube channel, and it’s misleading. The entire video is a minute and seven seconds, which includes the post-match celebration, which is LONGER than the actual match!
Commentary mentions how this was a call-back to when AJ cost Daniel Bryan the World Championship against Sheamus, losing in 18 seconds. However, that actually served a storyline purpose, and was the catalyst in AJ and Daniel’s breakup.
At the same time, this serves no further purpose other than to get a cheap reaction from the crowd! Lastly, it makes zero sense as to why Brie would be upset about that, as she and Daniel were not kayfabe together at that point! I don’t get it!
This match is genuinely, honestly, despicable down to its core, and it is such a whiplash when you realize one of the best Survivor Series matches ever happened on this same night. Team Cena vs. Team Authority, you have my heart, and I rewatch it every Thanksgiving. This slop fest, however, haunts me in my sleep.
