Earlier on Friday, various official WWE social media channels reported that Sheamus has been officially ruled out for the John Cena “The Last Time is Now Tournament.” Per the breaking news, WWE medical officials have not medically cleared Sheamus for action; thus, the “Celtic Warrior” needed to forfeit his quarterfinals slot.
The news was further elaborated upon this week’s WWE SmackDown, with Michael Cole confirming the injury, and informed fans that Sheamus’s would-be quarterfinals opponent, LA Knight, who he would’ve faced on next week’s SmackDown, will have a different opponent, with SmackDown and Raw General Managers Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce discussing who could step in to fill the role on short notice.
It’s quite a shame since Sheamus recently teamed up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio, in Cena’s final WWE Monday Night Raw match, to defeat The Judgment Day in a feel-good match.

We’ll provide more updates as they come, and we wish nothing but a speedy recovery to one of WWE’s most significant pillars, Sheamus.
