CM Punk is set to lead off WWE Raw tonight as the new champion.

CM Punk Name Drops John Cena and Other HUGE Names as Potential Challengers for his World Title

CM Punk has only been world champion for two days but he’s already decided the kind of champion he wants to be.

Punk kicked off Monday Night Raw, beginning the new era of WWE with him back at the helm. After thanking everyone that helped get him to this point, Punk said he wants to be a fighting champion for two reasons, one because there are a bunch of guys in the back he wants to punch in the face, and two, because he wants to challenge himself against the best the company has to offer. CM Punk noted that he believes he’s the best in the world but if he’s not what he says he is on any given day, he could lose the title he worked so hard to regain. Because SummerSlam taught him that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to remain on top and continue his seventh world championship reign.

So Punk began listing some of the wrestlers he wants to fight including Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, and Dominik Mysterio, all of whom he wants to get in the ring with so he can punch them in the face. Punk then mentioned wanting to face AJ Styles, saying he’s earned a shot at the championship. He brought up JD McDonagh and Finn Balor before suggesting he and Sheamus would have a banger. And then came the cherry on top. Punk said he knows Cena has limited dates left but he’s not here for a long time, he’s here for a good time and if Cena wants a shot at his 18th world title, if he wants some, he can come get some… CM Punk said he’d take on all challengers, noting the champ was here.

He was interrupted by Logan Paul, who entered the ring as Punk backtracked and said he wanted to be a fighting champion, but he’s take on anyone but Paul. Punk said he wanted nothing to do with Paul’s famous-for-nothing self. The two engaged in some back-and-forth before the Vision arrived and Bron Breakker made his case. Later in the night, Punk ran into Jey Uso backstage, who is another name who could receive another shot at CM Punk.

Needless to say, with Punk’s wishlist and the strength of the locker room, the best in the world will certainly have his work cut out for him if he hopes to retain his newly won hardware.
