As announced last week on TNA iMPACT, this week’s TNA iMPACT episode is another unusual one, as it’s a “Bound For Glory: Fade to Black” special episode. Like after Slammiversary 2025, TNA Wrestling will offer a unique behind-the-scenes look at the company’s biggest event of the year.“Follow the stars of TNA Wrestling as they prepare for the biggest event of the year. See the emotion, the passion, and an up-close look behind the scenes,” says TNA Wrestling.
“Plus, witness an encore presentation of the epic Bound For Glory main event, Trick Williams vs. Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship.” In addition to this, TNA Wrestling also aired the Team 3D vs The Hardys’ Road to Bound for Glory. Of this unscripted experience, we learn a few interesting things about what happened the night of Bound For Glory. One of them is that Team 3D planned to retire that night.

A Different Chris Bey
A year ago, Chris Bey suffered from a neck injury. He wasn’t even sure if he would be able to walk again. At Bound For Glory, the Ultimate Finesser was more than on his feet. TNA President Carlos Silva says: “When I saw Chris yesterday, Chris was different from the wayAll-Star he was three, four months ago when I saw him. Chris was now not just a guy who had been injured and was working to get better. It was like he was back. The way he was moving, he was smiling, and the positive energy that he gives off, it felt so good for me to see that.”
After receiving his All-Star award from Silva’s hands, Bey said, “God is great. I’ve had a tough year, but a fun year still, because I like journeys. I like the difficulty because it makes for great stories. But also, I like to watch what you guys do because it motivates me. It makes me work harder. So every time I see you guys breaking records or doing great shows, doing great business with other companies, it helps me push my next workout. It helps me push my next therapy session, which I did officially just get discharged from. So, you guys, keep doing what you do, I’ll keep doing what I do, and together we’ll keep winning.”

“Glory belongs to those who never quit.”
Later, Bey explained, “A year ago, the night after Bound for Glory, I broke my neck, I had a double fusion and I was paralyzed for maybe three or four months where there was no certainty of if I was going to walk again through the power of God, prayers, positivity, a lot of good energy, good doctors, medicine, I was able to get back on my feet finally.”
“There’s been something about the good energy of what I’ve been watching through TNA, and this is not a lie. There were times when I couldn’t stand on my feet for longer than five minutes, and I’d watch one of the TNA shows, and I’d stand the whole show, like watching the show, seeing what everybody was doing, feeling that energy. I missed being here. I missed my family. I missed being a part of it.”

Mike Santana’s Journey of Redemption
Ariana, Mike Santana’s daughter, was the reason why he worked so hard to become the TNA Champion: “I’m really excited for my Dad’s match. He’s very special to me. I just really appreciate everything he’s done, all that he went through just to be here now. He’s gone through a lot.” She adds, “To stand in the ring, it was very special, because this was his big night, and I got to experience that special night.”
It wasn’t just about winning a title for Mike Santana. It was about redemption. “Coming in as someone that people had no expectations for, and almost 10 years later, I’m the World Champion. A poor Puerto Rican kid from the Bronx had a dream and the balls to chase it. And I’m here with that (the belt).”

“She gets to live an amazing life because of this.”
After we saw Trick Williams hugging Santana after the match, Santana adds, “Mike Santana is synonymous with TNA, and TNA’s synonymous with Mike Santana, and that’s gonna be forever. I am the very first Puerto Rican TNA World Champion, the first ever Boricua. That’s forever. Nobody will ever be able to take that from me. I don’t care who came before. I don’t care who comes after. Whoever is stepping foot to this (the title), you better come with the same fire, the same passion, the same fight.”
To the roster, waiting for him after the match backstage, he said, “Everybody that I worked with from the moment I stepped foot back in here, this doesn’t happen without all of you. So I want to give my appreciation to each and every one of you who got me here. We’re only as good as the people that we’re out there with, and you guys help me get here. So thank you guys. Let’s continue building this. Let’s continue rocking the world.”

Team 3D knew they were coming to retire
Bully Ray and D-Von came to the One Last Table match knowing it was their last match. We see D-Von saying to his kids, “Daddy’s not doing it anymore, so you don’t have to worry. Daddy’s done.” Before the match, Bully Ray adds, “It’s another great memory. That is exactly what I envisioned for a final match between the Hardys and the Dudleys, and I think the proof is in the emotion of the audience. It was about respect.”
Bully Ray confesses: “It’s not about my words, it’s what fans thought about it. When the largest crowd in TNA Bound for Glory history, chanting “Thank you, Dudleyz. Thank you, Team 3D. ” It’s the best words that can come up with, thank you. Thanks for enjoying the story.” D-Von confirms: “I know I had a 33-year career, loving everything I did, making history. I will be remembered in this business. To those who showed love, thank you. Thirty-three years, I couldn’t ask for a better career. Thank you so much.”

Nygma Says
It was more magic moments after the magic moment that TNA Bound For Glory was. When they say TNA is a family, that’s not empty words; that’s real. Next week, I don’t know if there will be an episode of iMPACT or not. The company hasn’t said anything about it yet. A new episode of iMPACT, featuring matches and segments, is not yet available on the menu, for now. Till next week (because whatever happens, I’ll be there), may the Nygma be with you.
