The Usos and LA Knight

  • After a video package recapping the issues between LA Knight and the Usos from last week, the show opens with Knight confronting Jey Uso as the Usos are making their entrance. The confrontation is broken up by Adam Pearce, who orders both to his office. The two separate as Jimmy Uso looks on.
  • Later in the show, Adam Pearce is wondering they these guys are fighting in the parking lot when Jey has bigger fish to fry this weekend. Knight says he doesn’t care about Wrestlepalooza, he cares that Knight speared him. Uso says he’ll do it again. Pearce separates them again saying they need to keep the peace as not to ruin the big Wrestlepalooza event. Knight asks for Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker but Pearce says he’s not going it alone. He lets Knight pick his own partner, and of course he picks…Jimmy Uso. Jey says that’s his brother but a smug Knight says that’s the only way for there to be peace. Pearce and Jey go off to talk to Jimmy.
  • Later in the show, LA Knight shows up and tells Jimmy Uso he wants him to be his partner against the Brons. Jimmy says he doesn’t think it’s a great idea. Knight says after last week he proved himself and didn’t try to screw him. Jimmy says he’s putting him in a rough spot. Him and Jey are going to get theirs on Saturday so tonight, Knight needs to find someone else to go after the Brons.
  • Later in the show, Jey Uso is on the phone when Jimmy rolls up. He asks who’s on the phone but Jey says not to worry about it. Jey says Jimmy has to say no if Knight asks him to be his partner tonight. Jimmy says, “has to?” Jey repeats. Jey says no one matters, just family. Jimmy says he did tell him no so it’s all good but he’s not taking orders from his brother like he’s one of the kids. Jimmy tells him to change his tone because the last time he checked, “there ain’t no ula fala around your neck.”
  • Later in the show, Jimmy asks is Knight is still looking for a partner and he tells him he’s in.

His Name is John Cena

  • They show a picture of Cena from inside the wall of the arena, as it’s noted that Cena’s own college career took place just a few miles away. Cena is met with massive applause as he calls for his music to be cut to soak it all in. Alicia Taylor leads Cena in his intro before Cena takes the mic to address the crowd. Cena talks about the energy and noise and the young fans in the crowd. He says the younger fans might not know, but he spent years playing football across the street. Cena said people probably don’t know it because he was an offensive lineman – you never get your name in the paper, show up get your ass kicked, and come back the next day to get your ass kicked again. Cena says Springfield College prepared him for life in the WWE. He calls out his friends and teammates whom he’s known for 30 years, his family is in the crowd. Cena said there’s no room for a stage as the arena is packed – he needs it tonight.
  • Cena said he’s started the intro with one thing but it’s evolved into something else. Cena notes he’s got a tall hill to climb. Cena said the words, “the last real champion” mean a lot to him. This Saturday, Brock Lesnar wants to end the last real champ. Cena acknowledges Lesnar is intimidating, controversial, and “damn near invincible.” Chants of “F*** you Lesnar” get bleeped out. Cena notes that Lesnar has made a target of him – he’s had matches with Lesnar before, some of the toughest challenges he’s ever faced. So when Lesnar challenged him to a match, why didn’t he say no? “Whoop his ass” chants follow. Cena says if he says no, he can keep his health, lean into some politics to get out of the match. Cena notes he only has six appearances left so saying no would have been smart, safe, and easy. “Thank you Cena” chants. But it wouldn’t have been him. Cena said that crowd reaction is why he said yes because he is the last real champion. He’s never fought any battles in the back, he’s fought them in the ring. That’s what makes him the last real champion – it’s not about wearing the belt or being the face of the company, it’s about leaving the place better than you found it, showing up with hustle, loyalty, and respect. This is a chance to make magic so you give all that you have.
  • Is he afraid of Lesnar? Yes. Could he fail? Yes. But will he back down or give up? HELL NO! Cena says they will take the fight to the Beast because that’s what they do. This Saturday, the Beast versus the Last Real Champion. It’s the final showdown of two generational titans. Cena said he founded suplex city by taking his best for almost two decades. Like a fan’s sign, his jorts are stronger than Lesnar’s jeans. You want some, come get some!

Lyra Valkyria vs Roxanne Perez

  • The women lock up with both looking for the early strength advantage. Collar and elbow tie up as both are showing off their technical abilities. Perez showing disrespect to Valkyria gets her a slam to the mat. Both women back up as Perez gets a nearfall. Valkyria under the legs and into a pinning attempt of her own. Both women back up. Perez off the ropes but Valkyria ducks under. Perez lands a kick to the back. More evasion from both before Valkyria hits a legsweep and dropkick before a crossbody. It’s noted that Valkyria is favoring her back. Raquel Rodriguez from the outside gets caught taking out Valkyria. Rodriguez is ejected but the distraction leads to the ref not able to count Perez’ roll up. Perez goes to sendValkyria out of the ring but Valkyria reverses and hits Perez with the double boots to the outside. Valkyria rolls Perez back in as she climbs to the top. Perez pulls her down but it looks like Valkyria’s head hits the ring post. Perez pounds her with fists and we go to commercial…
  • Valkyria is on top when as we get back from commercial and both go for quick roll-ups. Valkyria into a sit out powerbomb for a nearfall but Perez kicks out. Valkyria to the top but Perez rolls under forcing her off. Both women on the ropes as Perez gets to the top first and hits the Frankensteiner followed by her cartwheel knees to the back. But no, Valkyria kicks out. Perez immediately into the crossface but Valkyria poweres out and hits the Nightwing to put away Perez.
  • Rodriguez back in the post-match as she takes out Valkyria. She and Perez both start going after Valkyria as Perez hits Pop Rox. Rodgriguez has Valkyria up but Bayley (wearing an AJ Lee shirt) hits the ring and goes after Rodriguez and Perez. Rodriguez briefly regains control but Bayley is right back at it. Suplex to Perez as the crowd chants for Bayley.  Valkyria backs up as Bayley is seemingly having some internal conflict looking menacingly at Valkyria. She leaves the ring and hugs the commentators, security, Alicia Taylor, Jessica Carr, and fans.

IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer

  • The ladies are backstage wrapping up their contract signing. Vaquer says she respects her but may the best woman win. SKY says she respects her too but she will win. The two shake hands before the Kabuki Warriors arrive. Asuka tells Vaquer no one is ready for IYO. Vaquer tells her to get out of her face. Asuka says tonight it’s Vaquer vs Kairi Sane. Pearce agrees and makes it official. SKY seems torn.

Kofi Kingston vs Penta

  • New Day make their entrance before the break. Grayson Waller is in the ring with a notebook where he’s trying to sign a petition to get the Mexican Destroyer banned. Penta out after the break. Kingston rolls out of the ring early as Penta gives chase. Kingston back in before Penta kicks him and he rolls out. Penta with the dive over the top as Waller looks on. Penta and Waller engage before Penta gets Kingston back in the ring. Before Penta can attack him however, Kingston with a big kick. Waller mocking him but Penta slaps him. Kingston to the outside to knock Penta to the ground as Woods mocks him. “New Day sucks” chants as we go to commercial…
  • Back from break and Kingston is in control. Penta and Kingston going at the ropes and Penta gets the better of it. Penta gets Woods up in the corner and kicks him upside down before hitting the corner handstand and going for the pin. Kingston kicks out. Penta with a hard-hitting chop to Kingston against the ropes. Kingston grabs the mask and almost gets a nearfall. Woods makes a joke about sending Penta to Shelbyville to which Corey Graves keeps up the Simpsons references. Kingston and Penta aggressive with strikes and kicks as Penta and Kingston both go to the mat. Penta up first and he’s setting up for the destroyer but Woods climbs the apron. Waller in the ring but Penta kicks him. Penta on the ropes and Kingston rolls him up on the distraction. Penta with a huge springboard Mexican Destroyer! It pops Tessitore. That’s a wrap.

CM Punk/AJ Lee and Seth Rollins/Becky Lynch

  • Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are out first. Some cheers for Rollins as the crowd sings him in but mostly a non-reaction and boos for Lynch. More boos for the Vision and chants of ‘CM Punk’ as Rollins has the mic. He says he was going to say the name of their “stupid little town,” but instead he’s going to ignore them. He will address the viewing audience live on Netflix instead. Welcome to Monday Night Rollins…boos. Rollins does his schtick as the crowd follows along. He says now he gets the honor and privilege to introduce Lynch so he does. He does her schtick as the crowd boo louder and chant “AJ Lee.” Rollins tells them to show some respect making the cheers even louder. Lynch says she has a lot to say but she’s not going to talk about people behind their backs. Whatever she needs to say will be to their face…Cue Lee’s music as Punk comes out with her wearing her shirt.
  • More chants for Punk as he has a mic. Punk says he’s AJ’s husband and he’s not going to waste their time with an overcompensating, long-winded introduction as to who she is. Chants for “AJ’s husband” as Punk says “I’ll allow it.” Punk says there is no explanation needed as they know who he is and they came to see her. Chants for “AJ Lee.” Punk says he doesn’t know who to start with so he asks who’s the Man before deciding he’ll start ladies first. He made a career by telling people what he thought of them to their face. He’s just overwhelmed as to what to say about the two of them. He calls them goofs leading to the crowd chanting. Rollins taunts the crowd before Punk continues. He says they brag about being the most famous couple but they can’t share the spotlight. We had to listen to two crappy songs while Punk has no problem putting his song on the shelf and coming out to Lee’s music. He says they share a brain cell and a wardrobe, unfortunately but he doesn’t think they can share the spotlight. He wonders if they can be a unified front and a happily married tag team or will they let their egos get in the way.
  • Rollins tells the crowd to shut up. He says Punk is the most selfish human being he’s ever met. Chants of “shut the F up” that don’t get bleeped. Lynch calls them a human incarnation of herpes for not showing her “hot husband” some respect. Rollins says he’s going to do something selfless that hurts him immensely. He doesn’t want to do it but he’s going to do it. Rollins takes the sunglasses off. He says he’s going to give Punk credit. He points to Lee and says she is the best decision he’s ever made in his entire life…his personal life. Chants of “no one likes you” for Rollins to which Lynch replies “I like him.” Rollins says it doesn’t matter if they hate him as he’s still champion. Punk says “for now.” Rollins continues. As far as business is concerned, inserting Lee into this is a mistake Punk will regret for the rest of his life. Lee takes the mic saying the mistake was Rollins as she wouldn’t even be there if he didn’t use his wife as a human shield. Lynch says no one believed or expected she’d come back. It’s been 10 years she’s been gone. Lynch said she can’t believe how irresponsible of Punk. Lynch says she has notes on Lee’s book. She asks how she’s feeling physically as she talks about the damage to her neck in her book. Lynch tells Punk he got into a blood feud with a man because he took his “crappy little bracelet” with her name on it so how’s he going to feel when she’s pummeling her face in. Lynch says she’s the greatest female wrestler of all time. Big boos. She says other people say it. Punk says no one else says it but Rollins says he says it. Lynch says Lee isn’t an asset, she’s a liability.
  • Lee thanks Lynch for reading her book and says she did not read hers, but she’s right, she made a good point. Lee doesn’t know how her neck is going to hold up. More AJ Lee chants in the Euro style. Lee says it’s been 10 years since she took a bump. She doesn’t know what’s going to happen just like she didn’t know what was going to happen on SmackDown two weeks ago. She just skipped on out there and saw Lynch’s “constipated face” and saw red. It’s not her neck Lynch should be worried as she won two titles on that neck. Chants of “constipated” to which Rollins says they went too far. Lee says Lynch should be worried that even she doesn’t know what she’s going to do next because Lynch is right, she is erratic, she’s been known to make rash decisions. She’s a “Puerto Rican from New Jersey, sometimes I shank a chick.” Even Rollins looks surprised at the one as Punk seems to be holding back laughter. Lee says she can’t help it. She tells Rollins he made a plan and then used his wife as a back up plan but he can’t plan for what he can’t predict.
  • Rollins laughs saying Lee doesn’t think he can handle her. Rollins says “listen little girl,” she’s not wrong. He can’t predict her but he can predict her husband. Chants of “she will kill you.” Rollins says Lee may not know or want to believe but Punk has a nasty habit of leaving when things let him down. He says this Saturday when his wife rips her into shreds she better hope that Punk doesn’t leave her too. Lee smacks Rollins across the face. He says he’d never put his hands on a lady but he has someone who will. Lynch and Rollins don’t seem to be on the same page as the two argue in the ring. Rollins says this is her fault, not his as Lynch leaves saying he got them into this twice. Rollins pushes Punk but before he can retaliate Rollins rolls out of the ring. Punk gives chase and it’s a trap. Lynch back in the ring to take out Lee.  Punk back in the ring to check on Lee and Lynch slaps him again. Punk and Lynch come face to face as Lynch slaps him again. Rollins and Lynch celebrate their ruse as they kiss on the ramp to boos.

Dominik Mysterio

  • Byron Saxton asks Dominik Mysterio about his relationship with El Grande. Mysterio says it doesn’t matter. He’s the Mega Intercontinental Champion. The interview is interrupted as cameras follow security down the hallway as Woods has a chair and has taken out Penta. War Raiders out to help Penta as we head back to the ring for the arrival of El Grande Dos.

El Grande Americano vs Dragon Lee

  • Dragon Lee calls for the bell and instantly goes after El Grande. But Americano responds quickly and is able to lay the hands to Lee. The two wrestle at a frenetic pace with both exchanging some incredible early sequences. El Grande with the first nearfall after a cutter. American with Lee against the ropes taunting but Lee responds with rights of his own. Back to the ropes and Americano with a senton for another nearfall.  Huge kick to Lee’s face before grabbing his mask. Lee back up with hits to Americano who responds with a massive chop. Lee into the corner but Americano can’t shove him into the post. Lee responds with a kick to Americano to get him on the apron and then scissors to send him out of the ring. Americano says on the desk as Lee launches into a huge dive through the ropes. “Holy shit” chants as we go into commercial…
  • Lee in control as we come back from break but it doesn’t last long as Lee and Americano exchange chops. Lee with the innovative offense leading into a Liger Bomb but Americano kicks out. Americano back up with the chops as he heads to the top rope but Lee stops him. Lee gives chase and gets Americano upside down on the ropes. Lee to the top of the ring post with a huge double stomp. Two count for Lee. Lee goes after Americano’s mask but the ref backs him off allowing for Americano numbero dos to kick Lee. Americano uno almost has the pin but Lee kicks out. In comes AJ Styles, who crawls under the ring to chase down the Americano dos. Styles throws dos into the barricade as he begs off. Tres Americano? Tres comes from the timekeeper’s area to take out Styles. All three into play as Lee is taken down from the top and Americano locks in the submission. Dos and tres cheer on uno as all three celebrate to the back. They do the Spiderman pose.

Bayley and Lyra

  • Bayley seems to be arguing with herself as Valkyria stands outside the door. Bayley goes to leave her locker room as the door hits Valkyria causing her to enter. She finds Bayley alone and asks who she was talking to. Bayley seems confused. She thanks Bayley for the assist with Judgment Day given what she said to her. Bayley screams at Valkyria, calling her an idiot and not even caring to come in without knocking. She just barged in. Bayley tells Valkyria to stay out of her locker room. It seems Bayley may have a split personality story coming.

Stephanie Vaquer vs Kairi Sane

  • Rhea Ripley finds Stephanie Vaquer in gorilla and says whoever wins the title, she’s coming for, so good luck.
  • Vaquer and Saine play cat and mouse before locking up. Vaquer and Sky to the mat as Vaquer fights out of the body scissors. Both women back to their feet as Vaquer gets the waist and throws Sane down to the mat. Show of strength continues as both women back to their feet briefly. The crowd cheer as it’s evenly matched. Sane extends her hand and Vaquer shakes it much to the dismay of Asuka at ringside. Sane starts becoming more aggressive after that with a series of quick offensive moves. Sane with a nearfall but Vaquer kicks out. Sane on the outside with Vaquer on the arpon but she can’t quite get her. That allows Vaquer to hit the double stomp to take out Sane as we go to commercial…
  • Back from commercial and Sane is back in control. The two throw each other into the ring post as Vaquer takes over with knees to the corner. Vaquer setting up for the SVB but Vaquer fights out and takes Vaquer down to the mat. Sane smacks the mat before hitting the elbow in the corner. Sane up to the top quick but Vaquer gets out of the way and reverses into a DDT and nearfall. Sane counters with a DDT of her own as Vaquer gets her up. Sane back to the top rope but Vaquer stops her momentum. She climbs up and the two exchange strikes. Sane gets Vaquer down and upside down to hit the double stomp but no, Vaquer kicks out. Sane gets Vaquer up but no, Vaquer rolls through and gets a nearfall. Cutlass twice but Vaquer doesn’t flinch. She gets Sane into the corner and catches the knees with a dragonscrew. Asuka helps Sane on the outside as Vaquer heads to the top and takes out both of them. Vaquer drags Sane back in the ring and grabs her hair before hitting the Devil’s Kiss. Vaquer with the SVB, and that’s all she wrote.
  • Asuka gets in the ring with Vaquer but SKY runs out before Asuka can do anything. She stands in between the two, and they argue in Japanese as the crowd chants for IYO and then Mami. Asuka leaves the ring with Sane as SKY and Vaquer shake hands.

The Brons

  • In a pre-recorded segment, the Brons say the Usos used to be the greatest tag team until now. The myth that they are the greatest comes to an end on Saturday. Tonight, they give them a taste of what to expect. Bronson Reed says tonight, they find out what happens when the dog is off the leash. Bron Breakker says what happens to Jey Uso when the Usos come to an end at Wrestlepalooza. They’ll learn the same lesson Roman Reigns learned. Rollins vision doesn’t change for anyone.

Kabuki Warriors and IYO SKY

  • More yelling in Japanese as Asuka says she’s going to make her a champion and SKY says she needs to do this by herself like Asuka did. Then more yelling before Asuka walks away and Sane follows.

Judgment Day

  • The group is backstage celebrating Dominik Mysterio as Finn Balor looks apprehensive. He tells Mysterio to pump the brakes on the victory lap as it was a tough night for Rodriguez and Perez. Rodriguez says they’ll take care of Valkyria and Bayley as it’s what Liv would have wanted. Balor says he’s not worried about them, he’s worried about Americano. Mysterio says “this again,” to which Balor responds, yeah again. Balor says Mysterio is a member of the Judgment Day so he needs to know…JD McDonagh backs him off and says they just want to know what Americano is expecting in return. Mysterio says is it crazy to believe Americano just wants his respect because he’s the greatest luchador of all time? Balor says it is crazy and the next time he wants to “play that king of the luchadors card” and needs some help, he shouldn’t come looking for Judgment Day. Balor heads off and McDonagh follows. Mysterio says they’ll be back before Rusev arrives to introduce himself as the next challenger for the title.

Brons vs Jimmy and Knight

  • Jimmy and Bron Breakker start as Knight eggs Breakker on. Breakker takes out Jimmy who gets back up only to get taken down again. Breakker whips Uso but Uso responds with some huge chops to send Breakker into the corner. Uso gets the crowd going but Breakker takes him out again before tagging in Bronson Reed. Reed beats Uso pillar to post (literally) before getting him on his shoulders. Uso fights out and manages to land a superkick and tag in to Knight. Knight with quick strikes to Reed before attempting to power up Reed. Knight can’t do it, giving Reed the chance to take out Reed. Knight back in control with stomps in the corner and then double hip attack from Knight and Uso. The two clothesline Breakker out of the ring as the Brons head to the outside to regroup. Off to commercial…
  • Back from the break and Reed has Uso stranded in the middle of the ring. Uso tries to fight to his corner but Reed throws his down and continues to beat him into the corner. Breakker tags in and continues to brutalize Uso. Knight into the ring to attack Breakker after he breaks the cover on Uso into the push ups. Breakker with Uso on the top rope as the crowd chants for Uso. He fights Breakker off but can’t quite make the tag. Breakker drags him back into the middle before making the tag to Reed who does the same before going for the senton but Uso rolls out of the way and gets to the top to take out Reed. Both men down as Uso makes the hot tag to Knight seconds before Reed does to Breakker. Knight comes in hot to take out Breakker with a neckbreaker. He takes Reed off the apron but that allows Breakker a chance to hit Knight with the knee. Reed back in the ring and he’s got Knight set up but Knight fights out and finally takes Reed down after hitting the ropes. Knight to the top rope with the leaping elbow and then Uso Splash. Uso with the cover but Breakker breaks it up. All four men down. Breakker and Knight up first and Knight takes Breakker to the floor. Uso throws Reed out and then hits the dive through the ropes before going back for seconds but Reed stops him in his tracks. Knight comes up the steps to take out Reed before throwing him back into the ring right into a superkick from Uso and then a spear. Uso to the top right as Breakker takes out Knight and then tries to get Uso off the ropes. Uso fights him off but Reed comes in with the Jagged Edge to secure the W for the Vision.
  • Post-match, the Brons keep up their attack on Uso as Breakker hits a huge spear. Before Reed can hit the Tsunami, Jey comes out with a steel chair for the save. He takes out Breakker, then goes after Reed, who punches the chair out of his hand. Jey with slaps to Reed and back to the chair. Again and again and again. Jey goes to check on his brother as Knight enters the ring and grabs the chair. Jey turns around and Knight puts down the chair. He extends his hand and Knight shakes it before the two hug it out. But it’s brief as Knight turns around and hits Jey with the BFT as the show goes off the air.
