Why Becky Lynch Must Win WWE Feud With AJ Lee

Since Becky Lynch returned to WWE earlier this year at WWE WrestleMania 41, she has shown why she is still “The Man”. Becky quickly captured her first Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Giving Becky the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title was the right move, as she elevated the women’s mid-card belt.

With Becky’s strong in-ring work and heel persona, now isn’t the time for her to drop the title. We lay out a couple of good reasons why AJ Lee should be the one staring up at the lights for Becky Lynch once this rivalry is over.

AJ Lees Wins the Battle, Becky Lynch Wins the War

Recently, Becky Lynch placed herself in the heated rivalry between her real-life husband, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and CM Punk. Little did Becky know that CM Punk was going to bring his real-life wife, AJ Lee, into the mix. WWE is letting Becky and AJ’s feud play out by booking a mixed tag team match for its upcoming PLE, WWE Wrestlepalooza.

With that likely victory, both CM Punk and AJ Lee could be put in title contention. Becky should take the fall or submission to AJ so that the feud spices up a bit more, and it gives AJ momentum after her long-awaited return.

The possible Women’s Intercontinental Championship can take place at WWE’s following PLE, Crown Jewel. From post-Wrestlepalooza to Crown Jewel, WWE will have ample time to build a story involving only Becky and AJ. Crown Jewel would be where Becky goes over AJ to retain her title. It’s also too soon for AJ to win a championship, especially since she just came back.

Much like CM Punk, she doesn’t really need to be a champion as she’s already a big draw. She’s more suitable putting other talent over, such as Liv and Roxanne. Or even return to her old feuds with Natalya and Nikki Bella. Even a program with Naomi would be something to look forward to when she’s back from maternity.

It would elevate Becky significantly, as she might defeat another WWE veteran. This potential win also demonstrates Becky’s dominance as Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Becky can work with Stephanie Vaquer as well, or have some NXT women get called up to enhance the division.

Hopefully, her title run lasts through WrestleMania 42 so she can elevate a much younger star like Stephanie Vaquer, Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, or Roxanne Perez, to name a few.

WWE could go the route of Lyra Valkyria being the one to dominate Becky. Although she can’t receive another title shot as long as Becky is champion, a proposed stipulation can come into play. For instance, if Lyra loses, she must leave WWE. It would be a great way to make the Lyra and Becky rivalry more dramatic as it culminates in a title against career matchup.
