WWE SmackDown Preview (9/12/25) – SummerSlam Championship Rematch

We are just over a week away from WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis from this week’s WWE SmackDown. On the road to the next big Premium Live Event, things are not slowing down one bit for the flagship Friday night show of WWE, especially after a huge installment of the show last week. We hate grudge and title matches, as well as the return of a beast. If you’re already excited, then we’ll cut the chatter. Here’s a WWE SmackDown preview for September 12th, 2025.

WWE SmackDown Preview and Card (9/12/25):

  • Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton
  • Brock Lesnar Live on WWE SmackDown
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill

The Beast Speaks

After returning on night two of WWE SummerSlam and brutalizing John Cena, everything was radio silent when it came to Brock Lesnar. On the latest edition of SmackDown, the beast broke the silence. In the final SmackDown appearance of John Cena, facing off against Sami Zayn for the United States Title, Lesnar would march to the ring and spoil a classic-in-the-making, by F5-ing Zayn, and delivering one to Cena.

With their WrestlePalooza match official, Lesnar makes his way to SmackDown once again. What does he have to say to John Cena and the WWE Universe?

A Summer Storm Returns

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill put on a show at SummerSlam, with Stratton notching another successful title defense to add to her impressive reign. Unfortunately, the match was not without its fair share of controversies. Most thought Cargill won the match after pinning Stratton in the middle of the ring.

However, the referee would wave it off, due to Tiffany having her leg on the ropes, signaling a rope break and the invalidation of the fall. This miscue led to Cargill losing her composure, allowing Tiffy to capitalize and retain. For weeks after that, Cargill was lobbying for another shot at the gold, and Stratton was more than willing to oblige.

This week on SmackDown, Jade Cargill promises to bring home the title once and for all. On the other hand, Tiffany Stratton promises to stick in the “eye of the storm” and keep the WWE Women’s Championship around her waist.

Who will come out of this epic SummerSlam championship rematch? Find out this coming Friday night, SmackDown, which you can watch live on The USA Network and Netflix!
