TNA iMPACT! Results And Review (8/28/25) – The Big Bag of Tricks

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory has been raging on. This long road until the October 12 PLE will have another PLE stopVictory Road on September 26. So, many things could happen until Bound For Glory. This also includes TNA iMPACT and WWE NXT every week. The iMPACT preview was clear. With five matches announced, the episode would be all about action. Let’s Nygma-dive into the episode, as there are some things to say about it (as always).

The Nygma’s View

Foxy

After defeating Masha Slamovich and NXT’s Jacy Jayne to become the new TNA Knockouts World Champion at WWE Heatwave, Ash By Elegance officially ushers in the Elegance era. Next week, live from Minneapolis, MN, The Elegance Brand will throw an extravagant Championship Celebration. Nygma says: Remember, the episodes are taped most of the time so that they couldn’t be there in person.

The IInspiration battled NXT’s Fatal Influence. Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx delivered double team offense to Cassie Lee, cutting off the ring in the process. Henley distracted the referee, allowing Nyx to attack McKay on the outside. The IInspiration took Henley out of the equation, before putting Nyx away with The IIdolizer. Nygma says: Honestly, I try to find some words, and no.

Mara Sadè looked to teach Tasha Steelz a lesson in respect. It was Mission Impossible as Jason Hotch attacked almost immediately from the outside, allowing Steelz to take control. The Great Hands got involved multiple times. When Agent Zero confronted Sadè, Steelz hit the cutter for the win. After the match, Agent Zero struck down Mara Sadè before The Hardys came to her aid. Nygma says: Nothing, because Agent Zero could crush me.

Sheepish

Myron Reed looked to shut down the twisted mind games of Eric Young. He failed because Young is not a “6-week rabbit” (our way of saying, not a spring chicken). Young strangled Reed’s eyes, NutCracked him (6 months after, I hope you know that’s my way to say low blow), followed by the Piledriver to win. Nygma says: A fan held a sign saying, “The Cleanse is Coming.” That’s a way to envision cleansing, not mine.

Ryan Nemeth reminded the world that his big brother, Nic, will return from suspension next Thursday. Alisha and Eddie Edwards wanted to shut him up, and we got an impromptu match. Eddie Edwards was so on fire that Nemeth tried to tickle Alisha into slapping him to cause the disqualification, but she refused. Eddie hit a Tiger Bomb, followed by the Boston Knee Party to win. Nygma says: Ryan can’t do anything good without Nic by his side? With or without, he can’t, whatsoever.

Eric Young stood over a fallen Joe Hendry in the backstage area. Nygma asks herself how Hendry was able to defeat The Miz in Manchester on Tuesday and be beaten down by Eric Young on Thursday. Whatever, Nygma still doesn’t believe in Joe Hendry.

Cobra

Mike Santana and TNA International Champion Steve Maclin joined forces against TNA World Champion Trick Williams and AJ Francis. Williams wanted no part of Santana in the early going, but had no problems being involved when Francis needed it. Maclin and Santana did great teamwork, but Francis got involved after Santana hit a DVD on Williams. Williams then inadvertently collided with Francis. Santana countered the Trick Shot into a rollup to pin Williams.

Nygma says: It was a surprising opener, but you need to watch the complete episode to understand why. Also, Mike Santana and Steve Maclin showed that they are the ones in charge. But, most importantly, Santana pinned Williams. A statement that led to a brawl between the two after the match, and also prompted TNA World Champion Trick Williams to call his lawyer.

TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys clashed with TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Cedric Alexander. If Slater was hesitant to go all out on his idols, The Hardys, he played the game. So, the match was perfect. The Hardys won, but in fact, the four men won as the after-match embrace proved. Nygma says: Nothing. Happy Nygma.

The show could have stopped there, and it would have been perfect. TNA World Champion Trick Williams came to the ring with his lawyer to address Mike Santana’s post-match attack from earlier tonight. Williams stated that he cannot work under these conditions and reminded everyone that he is not required to defend his title for 50 days.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella wanted to make Williams’ next defense official for Bound For Glory, but was interrupted by his lawyer. Marella introduced Williams’ lawyer to the Cobra. Nygma says: Another Milan Miracle. Nygma loves Milan Miracles.

The Best of The Rest

  • Dani Luna was out to make a statement following her recent change in attitude.
  • Indi Hartwell got Dani Luna added to the scheduled #1 Contenders Match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship between her and Jody Threat next week.

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)

I loved this episode because I had the feeling we were going somewhere. The path to TNA Bound For Glory is becoming clear. We are so close to having the match every fan wants, Mike Santana vs Trick Williams for the TNA World title. The Knockouts matches may have been a little under, but the rest was so enjoyable.

Watch Steve Maclin’s Immersed documentary on TNA+ and here. The Immersed series is excellent, thanks to Jorge Barbosa’s unique eye. And Maclin’s path and dedication to the company are an example. Also, have you listened to and read a pure Nygma Leon Slater’s interview? You should.

Next week, we are live from Minneapolis. TNA yesterday revealed what will happen, so check here. With so much to read and listen to, I will leave you with this: The name “After The Bell” may have disappeared, but the Nygma spirit of the pieces will never disappear.  Until next week, may the Nygma be with you.
