TNA iMPACT Preview (8/28/25) – Episode 1,101

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory may be raging on, but  Victory Road is in 4 weeks. On September 26, 15, a new PLE takes place live from the Minneapolis Centre in Minneapolis, MN. The cards may be reshuffled9 pm, and we have four iMPACT episodes to set the stage for this.

On the August 26 episode of NXT, no TNA talent appeared. Still, we learnt that, beginning Tuesday, September 2, on NXT, the No. 1 Contenders Speed Tournament will determine Sol Ruca’s next challenger for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship.TNA Wrestling will be represented in the tournament by the “Angel of the Ring”, Xia Brookside, as she battles SmackDown’s Candice LeRae next week.

Usually, crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. Victory Road or Bound For Glory may be TNA PLEs, taking a look at what happens on Tuesday nights has become essential to understand what may happen on Thursday nights. Not this week…

Then, a major TNA title remains in the hands of an NXT talent. What remains terribly eNYGMAtic…

The Nygma’s View

Welcome to the 12th century of TNA iMPACT. I totally forgot to tell you that last week was the 1100th episode of iMPACT. With five matches and a segment, this TNA iMPACT will be all about action and the celebration of the TNA Knockouts title being home. I’m used to playing with TNA’s own preview to give you my preview, but it is now available around 1 AM GMT (even Nygma sleeps).

Mike Santana won’t be able to face Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship before Bound For Glory, because of a 50-day non-defence clause in Williams’ contract. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella made a Milan Miracle and offered Santana to face Williams in a tag-team match. When Williams chose his trick buddy, AJ Francis, Steve Maclin offered to team up with Santana.

Nygma says: We could say, half a loaf is better than no bread (in French, for lack of thrushes, we eat blackbirds), but that wouldn’t be fair. Santana and Maclin make one hell of a team. And they have more tricks in their bags than Williams can imagine.

Last week, The IInspiration had a message for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, The Elegance Brand, before NXT’s Fatal Influence, Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley, interrupted them. The match takes place this week. Nygma says: I don’t have a lot to say on this match, but I’ll stay tuned as I wouldn’t like to see the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship go to NXT.

Ash by Elegance did it on Sunday night at WWE Heatwave. She brought the TNA Knockouts World title to TNA Wrestling, but in a controversial way. She will obviously have a lot to tell us, supported by The Elegance Brand. Nygma says: I was suspecting she would be the winner, even if that doesn’t make me happy. What I want to see tomorrow is how the Elegance Brand will survive Ash being a double champion.

Tasha Steelz faces Mara Sadè. Last week, Steelz and The Great Hands insulted Sadè’s art. Nygma says: Once again, I don’t have a lot to say on this match. I will just remind some of you that Tasha Steelz is a former Knockouts World Champion and 2-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. Before she became Mustafa Ali’s “Jill of All Trades,” Steelz was a marvel to watch in a ring.

Eric Young is on a mission: cleansing TNA Wrestling. He tried to convince Myron Reed that the cleanse is coming. He also asked him what would happen to him when Trey Miguel is back. Suppose Zachary Wentz will be in Reed’s corner, no words on The Northern Arnory being on Young’s side. Nygma says: Don’t forget that a good cleansing requires good water, a good oil or cream, and a good sponge.

When TNA Wrestling announced the matches for the Baltimore taping session, I jumped out of my seat when I saw The Hardys vs Leon Slater and Cedric Alexander. I immediately thought the Hardys-Slater brotherhood was over. That seems not to be the case as Alexander and Slater want to team up. Nygma says: I put my theory of conspiracy back in my drawer as I’m sure it will be one hell of a match.

I’ll see you on Friday for TNA iMPACT! “After The Bell.” Stay tuned as my interview with the X-Division Champion Leon Slater goes online in a few hours. Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
