How Bronson Reed has Drawn the Ire of Roman Reigns

Next Sunday at Clash in Paris will be a big test for Roman Reigns. He will face off against Bronson Reed in a highly anticipated singles match. For weeks, these two men have been battling each other, forcing a match to be made. Reigns’ problem with the faction he’s in, The Vision, actually started many months ago. He got attacked on the Raw after WrestleMania 41 by Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins, forcing a multi-month hiatus.

His return three months later saw him defend CM Punk and Jey Uso from Breakker and Reed, whom he and Uso defeated at SummerSlam. There have been many months of tension between the Tribal Chief and the members of the Vision. But one man in particular has made him extremely mad. Reed has successfully provoked Reigns into a match next Sunday. It actually was an easy thing to do for many reasons.

Reed is Forcing Reigns to Relive a WrestleMania Betrayal

Before WrestleMania 41, Reigns and Paul Heyman were best of friends. For years, Heyman was his wiseman, acting as the advisor to the Bloodline’s decisions. But he got betrayed, as Heyman left to manage his old friend CM Punk. However, that didn’t last long, as the two joined forces again during a mid-match betrayal.

But no one could see Heyman betraying Reigns, allowing for Rollins’ victory in their triple threat match. The two joined together, later adding Breakker and Reed to form the Vision.

Every time Reigns faces a member of the Vision, he has to look into the eyes of someone he thought was his friend. An easy way to get him mad is to stand face-to-face with someone who betrayed him. Reigns values loyalty, and when that trust is lost, he will never forget what was done to him.

He Mocks Many Things That are Important to Reigns

For many years, Reigns was known as the Tribal Chief. It was a moniker not based on ego but based on results. He was Universal Champion for 1316 days, and WWE Champion for 735 days. When he returned from hiatus, he called himself the OTC, standing for the Original Tribal Chief. He also won sole possession of the sacred Ula Fala after defeating Solo Sikoa at the Raw on Netflix premiere. For weeks, Reed has been stealing his shoes and wearing them around his neck.

Heyman, wanting to incite him, has called Reed the Tribal Thief and Roman’s shoes the Shoe-la Fala. Two things that are important to him are now being made fun of. It makes sense why he is so bothered by their actions. He wants the fight not only to get back at Heyman, but as retribution for his moniker and culture being mocked.

Reigns Absolutely Deserves the Fight Next Sunday

If someone is mocking your culture or something that you rightfully earned, it wouldn’t make you feel good. It would make you feel angry and hurt, even more so if they aren’t remorseful at all. That is what Reigns has been dealing with for the past couple of weeks.

The emergence of Reed as a problem for him has made him angry for very good reasons. By being dubbed the Tribal Thief and making a mockery of something embedded in Samoan culture as the Ula Fala, Reed knowingly insults Reigns’ character and culture.

Doing so forced Reigns to single him out as public enemy number one. Heyman knows what makes Reigns angry, and what they’ve been doing has indeed made him very angry. Reigns absolutely is in the right for fighting Reed in Paris as a punishment for the mockery of things very close to him.
