GRAMMY-Nominated Lewis Capaldi “Believes” in TNA Wrestler Joe Hendry

Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi was jokingly asked in a segment on the Capital Scotland radio station whether he had a hand in writing the viral hit “I believe in Joe Hendry”. To which the Scotsman revealed that “he wished” he did.

“I wish I wrote that song, “I believe in Joe Hendry.” And I do believe in Joe Hendry, I wanna make that 100% clear.”

Capaldi is a known wrestling fan and attended the March 28 episode of SmackDown, which emanated from London’s 02 Arena. He even appeared in a backstage segment alongside fellow Scotsman Drew McIntyre, moments before McIntyre was brutalized by Damian Priest.

Former TNA Champion Hendry has had a meteoric rise in fame over the past few years. His entrance theme had become a hit on TikTok and even reached No.1 on the UK iTunes Charts. Through WWE’s partnership with TNA, Hendry has been able to achieve things once deemed impossible. He was a surprise entrant in the 2025 Royal Rumble and wrestled Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41.

Hendry revealed to Chris Van Vliet on Insight that his contract expires this year. Many expect the viral sensation to follow in Jordynne Grace’s footsteps and join the WWE.

Hendry has most recently wrestled on WWE television after he scored a quick victory over Charlie Dempsey on NXT.

Whilst Capaldi says that he was “gutted” to not write the iconic theme, he has made it clear that he is keen to collaborate on a sequel. Hendry commented on Instagram, stating, “I believe in Capaldi.”

Given celebrity involvement in the WWE, there is potential for a partnership between the pair. The “Someone you loved” singer may strive to enter the ring similarly to fellow musicians Jelly Roll and Bad Bunny.
