On August 5, 2025, an episode of WWE NXT, Oba Femi came out to discuss what was next for him and the NXT Championship. He got interrupted by Trick Williams, the current TNA Champion. As Williams was outlining his plans, Je’Von Evans came out, wanting a piece of Femi as well. If that wasn’t enough, Moose appeared to confront Williams, whom he’s facing at TNA Emergence next Friday.

It looked like a giant brawl was about to take place in the arena. That’s when DarkState attacked the four of them without any warning.
Afterwards, Ava confirmed that an eight-man tag team match will take place next week. That sounds good for the fans, but not so good for DarkState. Have they bitten off more than they can chew, or will they be able to beat some of NXT and TNA’s best male wrestlers?
DarkState has never Been Tested Like This Before
Since appearing at Vengeance Day back in February, the quartet of Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Saquon Shugars has been lurking around NXT and TNA waiting for the right time to attack. They utilize agility and teamwork to gain a numerical advantage and win matches. However, they might’ve picked on the wrong group of guys this time. Evans is one of the most talented young wrestlers NXT has ever seen. Femi has been NXT Champion for over 200 days.
Moose has been a headliner in TNA for years. Williams has been NXT Champion, NXT North American Champion, and TNA Champion. There’s no question that DarkState has its hands tied. Facing off against four wrestlers of their caliber would prove challenging for even the most experienced of opponents. They will have to think creatively, or the match will end in a quick loss.
Their Opponents’ Squabbling Might Be an Advantage
It’s no secret that Evans, Femi, Moose, and Williams form a super team in the ring. They are very powerful and super talented. But when you bring stars together, teamwork might prove to be difficult. This is where the advantage comes in for DarkState.
They have each other’s backs and a common goal. To make their presence felt on NXT and TNA by attacking anyone at any time. A win would make them more powerful than they already are. There’s no concern about a betrayal or a walkout that will make them lose.
But that is a concern for their opponents. Given how they feel about one another and the fact that they all have upcoming matches with each other, they are all going to be looking out for themselves. They may be a team, but they don’t trust each other, which could be good news for DarkState.
The Battle Will Be Exciting to Watch
Looking at this matchup on paper will cause a lot of fans to smile widely. Four of NXT and TNA’s best male wrestlers against a faction that has been creating havoc for months sounds like a great battle.
Whether they win or lose the match, it will be a fantastic learning experience for DarkState. They get to face off with four men who have earned the accolades that the fans have been giving them. If they lose, they’ll have extra incentive to win at Heatwave against Hank and Tank for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
But if they win, they take down four incredible wrestlers, making their upcoming matches more interesting. Either way, the fans win by getting to witness this battle next Tuesday. With so much on the line, this eight-man tag team match will bring out the best in everyone involved.
