Some of AEW's best teams meet in a four-way tag team match on AEW Collision

AEW Collision Preview (7/19/25): Four-Way $200K Tag

AEW Collision returns for night two of the company’s residency from the visually stunning Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois. Offering a stacked card of action, big moments, and an even bigger winner’s purse for the 4-way tag match. After AEW Dynamite, we’ve had a glimpse of new directions.

Saturday’s card offers more of the AEW traditions and variety we love. From another aerial offensive between Ricochet and AR Fox, to eight-man party action featuring The Don Callis Family. In women’s division action, Tay Melo finally gets her one-on-one match with Megan Bayne after weeks of sparring. Elsewhere, Alex Windsor makes her AEW TV debut against Taya Valkyrie.

Plus, in what could be an interesting, chop-heavy and brutal encounter between Rush and Katsuyori Shibata. Might be the sicko in me, but if Rush gets those cables… A couple of the sounds that I really like! Get the full lowdown with our AEW Collision preview.

Four-Way $200K Tag

Big money matches in 2025 are the new tournaments. As a storytelling device, they have become Tony Khan’s latest booking obsession. Plenty of us would gladly take these matches over repetitive tropes that long-term emptied the well and impacted storyline consistency. These matches don’t always fade into the annals. Someone on commentary will bring up AR Fox’s $300,000 3-Kings Christmas Casino Trios win. Let’s also ignore that it’s another four-way.

Part of which is to tell multiple stories at once, just as Wednesday night’s women’s $1,000 version did. Given Ricochet’s recent alliance with Gates of Agony, is this going to play into his obsession/failure losing these big-money matches? Given the teased issues with the Bang Bang Gang, again, another direction! CRU also has issues with Ricochet. Then there’s Big Bill and Bryan Keith in their quest to rack up wins and crush skulls.

Four distinct styles and teams, this is the type of dynamic match the tag division needs.

Dustin Rhodes speaks

There’s something inevitable about Dustin Rhodes’ TNT Championship run. Already, it feels like this reign is on borrowed time, that the championship was Kyle Fletcher’s to win last Saturday. However, with Adam Cole’s uncertain future, only one man could replace that immense sadness with hometown joy.

Dustin Rhodes in AEW has been iconic. Moment after moment. Pulling off surprise and stand-out performances with grace and style that refuses to age.  On the microphone, especially, the Rhodes legacy and cowboy spirit burn bright.

If anyone can subvert expectations, make this title reign meaningful in a way we could imagine, it’s Rhodes.

That’s this week’s AEW Collision preview all wrapped up. Meanwhile, AEW announced it would return to Wembley Stadium for AEW All In 2026.
