Big Change Made To TNA Slammiversary World Title Main Event

Mike Santana has officially been added to the previously scheduled TNA World Championship match between Trick Williams and Joe Hendry at TNA Slammiversary 2025. The red-hot Santana will have an opportunity to complete his ascension in his hometown of New York, but he’ll have to overcome Williams and Hendry in a three-way contest to do it.

Mike Santana and the fans have spoken, and Director of Authority Santino Marella has listened. After being screwed out of the TNA World Title by First Class, Santana gained a measure of revenge when he defeated A.J. Francis in a brutal Street Fight on last week’s iMPACT. Santana then refocused on his ultimate goal of becoming TNA World Champion and made a proposition that was heard by fans around the world for TNA Slammiversary.

It’s not the first time that fans have been asked to share their opinions, and as a result, changed the fate of a match or an event. Later last year, TNA Wrestling fans were asked to choose between hosting a pay-per-view (PPV) event in New York City or Los Angeles.

Over 1 million votes were cast in this unprecedented online destination poll. With no clear winner, TNA Wrestling announced that it will host major live events in both cities in 2025, with Rebellion in Los Angeles and Slammiversary in NYC.

On Sunday, July 20, TNA Wrestling presents Slammiversary LIVE at 8 PM EST on pay-per-view and TNA+ from the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. Before TNA Slammiversary and a new TNA iMPACT! episode on Thursday night, Joe Hendry will compete against Wes Lee in WWE NXT tonight.
