WWE SmackDown Live Stream Results (5/9/25):

  • The WWE Backlash 2025 St. Louis “go-home” edition of SmackDown kicks off with a big tag team match, pitting LA Knight and Damian Priest against United States Champion Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. Knight and Priest were on fire tonight. Despite the constant miscues of these two, they manage to win after LA Knight caught Solo Sikoa with a BFT. Unfortunately, Knight and Priest didn’t enjoy their win together, going after each other immediately after the bout. That didn’t matter though, as Jacob Fatu would stand tall, destroying both of his challengers for WWE Backlash 2025. When he thought he had the last laugh, Drew McIntyre would hit him with a Claymore, hoisting up the U.S. Championship.
  • Zelina Vega was set next to take on Chelsea Green and Piper Niven in a tag team match. Vega pulled out the big guns for her mystery partner, enlisting the help of home state hero Alexa Bliss. The “Goddess” was on absolute fire tonight, not missing a single step. Bliss pulled out all the greatest hits, hitting a Twisted Bliss, and finally, a Sister Abigail to Chelsea Green to score a massive win for her return.
  • Next on the WWE SmackDown card tonight, the WWE Universe hears from Charlotte Flair since her loss at WrestleMania 41 against Tiffany Stratton. Flair gave credit where credit was due, commending Stratton for potentially the “greatest WrestleMania women’s match” of all-time. Charlotte proceeded to ask Dayton, as well as the the WWE Universe, why they’re do disrespectful towards her. Flair gave Ohio one last chance to show her some respect or else she will never come back. Of course, Dayton did not oblige, leading to Flair exiting. Before she could do it, Jade Cargill would enter the fray, making a spectacular entrance. Cargill would address Flair, saying she “had her time” and it’s now time to head to the back of the line.
  • Jade Cargill prepares for battle against Nia Jax to determine the number one contender for the WWE Women’s Championship. Cargill had Jax dead to rights. However, Naomi once again distracted Jade by attacking Tiffany Stratton, who came out earlier in the night to scout her competition. Nia Jax would capitalize on this distraction, eventually leading to the Annihilator to Cargill for the pinfall victory and becoming number one contender for the WWE Women’s Title.
  • The Street Profits went out to celebrate their successful title defense in that “Match of the Year” candidate Three-Way TLC Match a few weeks ago. Fraxiom would quickly come out and stated that they wanted a shot next. Nick Aldis would grant them the opportunity to prove themselves, sanctioning an impromptu tag match between the two. Of course, these two teams proceeded to tear the house down and have the match of the night. No team wanted budge, giving in their all. However, in a shocking turn of events, Fraxiom would hit the Catapulta Infernal on Montez Ford, securing the win and shocking the WWE Tag Team Champions. After the match, the Profits showed Axiom and Nathan Frazer some much-deserved respect after the upset victory.
  • Carmelo Hayes has his eyes set on avenging his mentor’s, The Miz, loss at the hands of the demented Aleister Black as they go one-on-one. On this night, Hayes showed Black why he’s “him.” But ultimately, Black would roll him up for the fall after The Miz tried to interfere and help Hayes out. For his efforts, The Miz once again ate a sickening Black Mass.
  • Rey Fenix and Andrade were in sync tonight, beating Los Garza and avenging the sickening attacks on Fenix over the number of weeks since he debuted a month ago.
  • The “last real champion” of WWE spoke to the WWE Universe one day before his showdown with Randy Orton at WWE Backlash 2025 St. Louis. John Cena would run down Randy Orton, saying that the only legend Orton’s going to kill tomorrow in St. Louis is his own and the WWE Universe’s collective childhoods will cease to exist. On top of that, Cena went extremely low, comparing Orton to his failed 2006 drug test. A hooded figure assumed to be Randy Orton would attack Cena. But the Undisputed WWE Champion would fend him off before the real Randy Orton would deliver a monstrous RKO to John Cena before once again holding up the Undisputed WWE Title to close out the show.

That’s all for the WWE SmackDown live stream results for May 9th, 2025.
