NXT Stand & Deliver: Sol Ruca Crowned As New Champion

NXT Stand & Deliver: Sol Ruca Crowned As New Champion

Before WWE WrestleMania 41 Saturday, the NXT Stand & Deliver event took place. This took place at the T-Mobile Arena, and it was set to crown a new NXT Women’s North American Champion, following Stephanie Vaquer’s relinquishing of the title.

Women’s North American Championship Match at NXT Stand & Deliver

Following a brief stint as double champion, Stephanie Vaquer opted to relinquish the NXT Women’s North American Championship. This opened the door for the six-woman ladder match to crown a new champion.

The six women involved were Zaria, Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca, Izzi Dame, Lola Vice, and Thea Hail. Of these six, the only one to have held the title in the past is Kelani Jordan. She was the inaugural champion and, ironically, she won the title in a ladder match.

This match was as intense as one would expect, with the ladders being used as weapons just as much as they were used as tools to claim gold. All the women pulled out the stops, but there could only be one to claim the gold above the ring.

Sol Ruca showed exceptional effort, and ultimately grabbed the title above the ring.

#ANDNEW: Sol Ruca is NXT Women’s North American Champ

Sol Ruca is the new NXT Women’s North American Champion. This is her first title in NXT but, as of this past week, not her first in the WWE. In an episode of WWE Speed, which aired on April 16, Ruca defeated Candace LeRae to become the WWE Women’s Speed Champion.

In a way, Ruca is a double champ. Regardless, she becomes the fourth NXT Women’s North American Champion, and the second to win it via a ladder match.
