The WrestleMania card is rounding out nicely as we head into WrestleMania weekend. Early rumors online indicate 14 or 15 matches for the grandest stage of them all, with 13 announced so far. With less than a week left, there is one more spot, but what should be the last match added to WrestleMania 41? There are a ton of talented superstars that may not cut this year, and with one coveted spot left, only the most prominent names or best stories will get center stage at the showcase of the immortals.
Randy Orton vs. Solo Sikoa
This is the most likely final addition to the show after the most recent SmackDown. We saw Randy Orton and Solo Sikoa exchange words. There has been speculation that a returning star like Rusev might be brought in.
Additionally, Orton’s history of violence toward SmackDown General Manager (and former IMPACT and NWA World Champion) Nick Aldis seemed to foreshadow a match between those two happening as soon as WrestleMania. Sikoa, though, is a member of the Anoa’i crime family, The Bloodline, and his inclusion on the show was to be expected when they elevated him to the new head of the table for a time.
The main issue with this match, and perhaps the biggest strike against it being the final addition, is that nobody cares to see that match. Sikoa could find himself on the card another way quite easily, but a one-on-one with the Viper will almost assuredly end in his loss, with Orton looking to make the jump into the world title scene after the Road to WrestleMania.
Orton is the biggest name not included on the card right now, and having him compete would give him his 20th match at the big show. That alone makes this a likely addition, and with the Owens injury and Sikoa coming forward, it is a near-lock.
Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal
The WrestleMania Andre the Giant Battle Royal has already been announced for WrestleMania SmackDown, which is still the worst concept of the modern wrestling era. While the men are stuck entertaining fans on SmackDown, the women could compete in a WrestleMania 41 battle royal.
They tried for a time to make a women’s version of the match but without a ton of success. As the women’s mid-card continues to grow, the amount of talent is high enough to have another go at establishing a new WrestleMania tradition.
Apart from the original name, the original matches for the women were not all that impressive. With the talented roster getting a Royal Rumble match to showcase, it isn’t nearly as important as it was before. Neither of the women’s mid-card titles is being defended, though, and those entire divisions are sitting this show out.
The last match added to WrestleMania should also have stakes, not a trophy put together the week before the event. While women should have more representation on the card, this is the most they have had in a long time. With just a week left, this matchup is unlikely to be the match they add.
Tag Team Turmoil from Friday Night Smackdown
SmackDown has already announced the Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Street Profits for the horrendous “WrestleMania SmackDown.” It can’t be added to the card but, if they do not have a clear winner, then they could run it back in Las Vegas. Melo don’t Miz, The Wyatt Sicks, DIY, Pretty Deadly, and even Solo Sikoa and Tama Tanga could use a shot at the title on Sunday night.
Having them all brawl to interrupt the title match is a simple setup. They could make a gauntlet or ladder-style match as the next step. That would be sure to thrill the crowds in Las Vegas as it does every year.

While the build would be rushed, many of the clues that WWE has dropped on SmackDown seem to suggest that the division is wide open now. Multiple teams are talking with or trashing one another, setting up the perfect environment for various challengers.
The titles add weight to a potential bout, though maybe not enough to take that last spot at WrestleMania. Of the possible matches that could happen, though, this one is the most exciting and can fit in a lot of talented acts on the card where they belong.
The US Women’s Championship Open Challenge
Chelsea Green is not currently on the WrestleMania card, but that is not indicative of the stellar run she has been on since her WWE debut. The WWE United States Champion and her secret her-vice are some of the best acts in the division. Green has made her division feel more alive; her opponents haven’t mattered much in the overall outcome. It has been her character work that carries the interest.

Thanks to John Cena, the US Open Challenge has been permanently added to the WWE lexicon. Many heels have used it to significant effect before. A WrestleMania challenge would add an exciting segment with an opportunity.
It could be for a star like Becky Lynch to return or maybe an NXT call-up to make their mark at WrestleMania. Win or lose, Green deserves to showcase what made her a success in front of her adoring fans.
The Match Card So Far for WrestleMania 41
The match card, even without a last match for WrestleMania 41, is shaping up to be very good. If they do decide to add another bout to the card, it won’t be to bolster the show. Instead, it would get more people onto what will be a memorable night for the WWE Universe.
Guys like Orton of the Street Profits are already building to a matchup. The other avenue that WWE could consider is to get a lot more people on the card. Each match will be good.
All WWE needs to do is determine which story is ready for the big payoff.
