John Cena, WWE, and Drumstick Partner to Lay the ‘Snackdown’ on Boring Snacks this Summer

Ramen, Minute Maid, and Drumstick are not three brands you’d expect to see in the same sentence, but as such, all of them have something in common: they are all partners of WWE.

In early April, it was announced that Drumstick, the ever-popular sundae cone ice cream brand, was teaming up with WWE to “take down dry, boring snacks and declare victory over flavorless foes.” What does that mean? Well, it’s unsure yet but Drumstick and WWE are promising some pretty epic stuff leading up to WrestleMania 41 and continuing through the summer.

To kick off the partnership, Drumstick held a social media contest in late March, encouraging fans to send in their best ‘snack talk’ videos. Two winners were chosen to win an all expenses paid trip to WrestleMania 41. But that’s only the beginning as WWE and Drumstick are going to be active all summer with their Drumstick Summer Snackdown, inviting all fans to layeth the snack down on snacks like “stale pretzels and dry popcorn.”

Helping to accomplish this is John Cena, who is teaming up with Drumstick’s own Dr. Umstick. The two are set to appear in an ad spot that will debut during the WrestleMania broadcast and in-stadium on the big screens at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. On site, Drumstick will also have a dedicated WWE snack zone, something that will feature for SummerSlam as well.

“It is such an honor to partner with Drumstick. This campaign brings the Snackdown to WWE lovers kicking off at WrestleMania, but the action doesn’t end there – fans can follow along all summer long for even more Snackdown surprises,” said John Cena in the release. “Personally, I’ve loved Drumstick since they were the most coveted treat in Jr. High! I’m grateful to get to bring two things I love together under one roof.”

As part of the Drumstick Summer Snackdown, WWE and Drumstick are promising “plot twists and surprises fans won’t see coming, but will clamor to claim.” This includes tickets to SummerSlam, exclusive signed merchandise, Drumstick swag, cash sweepstakes, and more.

“Drumstick is all about bringing excitement to every moment, just like WWE,” said Elmer Gonzalez, Brand Manager. “With our Drumstick Summer Snackdown, fans will have more ways to step into the ring and help us crown Drumstick the true Snackdown Champion. There’s a lot on deck for this summer, so keep an eye on Drumstick’s social channels for more.”
