Could Oba Femi Lose His NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver?

Could Oba Femi Lose His NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver?

The April 8, 2025 episode of NXT ended with a highly anticipated match for everyone involved. For weeks, DarkState has been targeting Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, and Trick Williams.

Femi is the NXT Champion, with Evans and Williams both challenging him at Stand & Deliver next Saturday. They participated in a six man tag team match, with DarkState ending up the winners. After much miscommunication, Femi and Williams brawled on the outside, leaving the match entirely.

That left Evans alone to get pinned. The result will get the three men even more mad at each other. With tempers flaring between three talented men, the match at Stand & Deliver will certainly be fun to watch.

Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams both want the NXT Championship for themselves. Given the whole situation that’s unfolded, Oba Femi could actually be in danger of losing his championship.

Je’Von Evans Could Steal a Well-Deserved Victory

At only 21 years old, Je’Von Evans has already accomplished so much in NXT. He has consistently shown off his high-octane offense and can easily keep up with industry veterans.

An NXT Championship title shot came his way at Heatwave last July, only five months after he signed with WWE. Even though he didn’t win, he had an impressive showing. He has shown time and time again that he deserves to have gold around his waist.

Next Saturday is the perfect opportunity for that to happen. Femi and Williams have been feuding for months, with the tag match proving that their hatred for one another has only gotten worse. It’s clear that they will spend the majority of the match focused on each other.

If they get too distracted, Evans could steal the quick pin and the victory, making him the new NXT Champion.

Third Time Could Be The Charm for Trick Williams

Since the NXT Championship was introduced in 2012, only Samoa Joe has had three separate title reigns. However, if things go according to plan for Trick Williams, he could have that distinction as well.

His two title reigns were lengthy, at 74 and 98 days. The match being a triple threat means that the champion doesn’t have to be pinned in order to lose the championship. If he or Evans makes Femi a non-factor, then there will be a new NXT Champion.

But given their rivalry, the same thing could happen to Evans. He got pinned by Femi in another triple threat match involving Eddy Thorpe at New Year’s Evil. There’s no doubt that the finish is still in the back of his mind all these months later.

If he is directly focused on limiting Femi in the match, Trick Williams can become a three-time NXT Champion.

Both Men Are Legitimate Threats to Oba Femi

No matter the result, Oba Femi will have his work cut out for him at Stand & Deliver next Saturday. Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams represent the two ends of the NXT spectrum.

Evans is a young wrestler hungry for the first taste of championship gold. Williams is an NXT veteran with years of experience who wants to win for a record-tying third time. Both men deserve this title match, as their achievements speak for themselves.

They won’t go down without a fight, with triple threat rules making the match even more unpredictable. With the champion not needing to be pinned to win the title, the three men will have to be on their toes the whole time.

Oba Femi has been a great NXT Champion so far, but if he isn’t careful, Je’Von Evans or Trick Williams could take the championship away from him.
