In 2025 so far, AEW has made each Dynamite count. The card for Sunday’s Dynasty PPV is shaping up nicely, and no doubt more contests, including perhaps at least one kick-off match for this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments. Each AEW Dynamite episode proves AEW’s creative has turned the corner, offering huge contests with big consequences and the promise of more great stuff to come beyond banger matches.
This week, we get two meaningful contests with women’s wrestlers, which hopefully hints that the women’s spotlighting issue might become history. A potential hard-hitting showcase as Cope takes on Claudio Castagnoli, a Will Ospreay exhibition, and a violent intergender main event.
That’s excluding the unannounced but likely next instalment in the MJF/Hurt Syndicate story and more. Elsewhere, I’ve listed the known competitors for The Owen and speculated on possibilities (here).

“Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Penelope Ford
After a jump scare attack on the AEW Women’s World champion on Collision, Penelope Ford seeks to soften up “Timeless” Toni Storm for her ally Megan Bayne ahead of Dynasty. Last week’s loss to Ford and Bayne, where Bayne pinned Storm, did not dent the leading lady’s confidence. On Collision, with wrists taped up and calling out Bayne’s oiled, feathered ass, Storm seems ready to take Bayne’s ti*s home in her purse.
Penelope Ford offers Storm a tune-up, a chance to make a point to her challenger. Ford’s form since returning from injury has improved in the last few weeks after a few underwhelming contests. Against Storm, this could be her best singles match since her comeback.
Beyond the match, expect another moment, another glorious encounter where both women might get their hands on the other. AEW’s building of Bayne is making some consider what would happen if the Megasus defeated Storm in her first attempt. Well, I’ve got a what if article on the subject for you, here.
Mixed Tag Tornado Violence
With both champion and challenger for the AEW Men’s World Championship ruptured and still injured, this likely violent contest is going to do neither man any favors. Swerve Strickland has a ruptured eardrum, and Moxley has holes still healing in his back from the street fight with Cope. With Strickland’s determination to become a two-time world champion at Dynasty, a year after his first world title victory, there’s no telling how far the Mogul will go to break Moxley down.
However, after being called a character last week by Swerve Strickland, Moxley, disregard of his respect for Strickland and past admiration, is going to measure twice and cut once. Learn from his own mistakes with Cope.
Yet, the wildcards in this match are the women. This is Marina Shafir’s first match in AEW since she became Moxley’s enforcer and keeper of the briefcase. Shafir and Willow Nightingale have been attacking and interjecting in each other’s business for months.
The Babe with the Power is a hardcore specialist who wears knitwear and smiles. Shafir’s bullied and manhandled everyone who gets in The Death Riders’ way.
What has Shafir got? How has she improved since her last outing? Also, given both men’s desire for violence, if Shafir or Nightingale gets in the way, could there be some intergender combat?
Prepare for blood.
