Once again, John Cena put the WWE Universe on notice on WWE Raw. He started scorching hot by stating that he “observed and experimented on the WWE Universe throughout his career, and he felt justified about turning his back on the fans, considering how “fickle” they are regardless of what he did.
John Cena would then take fans back 20 years into the past when he won the WWE Championship for the first time at WrestleMania 21, and then soon after, he introduced the “Spinner Belt” design. The former 16-time world champion said he wanted to be innovative and put his stamp on the business by introducing his own championship.
But what did the fans do? They shunned him and referred to it as a toy. So, at WrestleMania 41, not only will he dethrone the fun machine, jet-flying Ric Flair from the history books, but they will also remember the name “John Cena” as he plans to “ruin wrestling” by beating Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He will retire with the title as the “last real WWE Champion.”
He wants the WWE Universe to “suffer” by taking away the history and prestige of the championship they held so dearly until they find a “new toy” to play with.
Before he could proceed further, Cody Rhodes would come out to an ovation from the Glasgow crowd. Rhodes went after Cena immediately, saying that his plans would not be possible without Cena beating him first. After that, Cody would state that he now realizes Cena was being sincere and that his first mistake was trying to understand it.
Now, he’s not holding back. Cody Rhodes will do everything in his power to keep the championship intact. Before this statement, Cena would walk away from the ring when Rhodes challenged him to take the title then and there, laying the title out on the floor. Cena would not bite, Cody would say what he said, Cena would make his way back to ringside.
Cody Rhodes concluded this by saying that Cena will walk away at WrestleMania 41 the same way he did tonight; empty-handed.
A tense exchange of words.
