WWE SmackDown Results (3/7/25):
WWE SmackDown got started hot and heavy as Joe Tessitore ran down the show for tonight. Immediately, we see Drew McIntyre heading into the building and making a beeline for Damian Priest, attacking the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion in retaliation for eliminating McIntyre first back at Saturday’s Men’s Chamber Match.
WWE recapped the shocking events from last Saturday night involving John Cena, The Rock, and Cody Rhodes.
The Viper Slithers Into The Wells Fargo Center
Randy Orton makes his return to WWE SmackDown after heroically returning to Toronto. Orton would speak about the actions of John Cena and how he was the “main guy” in WWE for 20+ years. Now, he’s just a “bottom for The Rock”, and the term “Rock Bottom” has taken on a new meaning.

“The Viper” would quickly turn his attention to Kevin Owens, stating that his jealousy is out of control and he’s too far gone. The former multiple-time world champion would then make it clear that Owens has awakened “the voices” inside his head. He’s ready to unleash it on Kevin Owens sooner rather than later, and he’s going to prove that Pat McAfee will only be the “second greatest Punter in the WWE.”
Tiffany Stratton vs. Piper Niven
We saw footage earlier in the night of Tiffany Stratton challenging Piper Niven tonight on SmackDown. General Manager Nick Aldis would quickly make the match official, and the WWE Women’s Champion would make her way into the ring, ready for battle.
Stratton had some good offence early on, but Piper Niven was too strong, leaving Tiffy on the back foot to fight her way back in this match. That she did, Stratton would pull out the Swanton Bomb. Niven would fight back with a Boss Man Slam, but Stratton would immediately get back on her feet after Piper set her up for a Vader Bomb.
With that miscalculation, Tiffany Stratton would capitalize, hitting Piper Niven with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, picking up the victory. Literally, as the bell sounded, Charlotte Flair would incapacitate her WrestleMania 41 opponent, hitting a Chop Block and locking in the Figure-8 Leg-Lock, leaving Stratton laid out in the ring.
Motor City Machine Guns vs. Los Garza vs. Pretty Deadly
Nick Aldis sanctioned this match to crown a number-one contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship. It was an absolutely chaotic match, as you can imagine. No one could keep up with all the high-octane offense happening in the ring. At the end of the day, the development that mattered the most came when Pretty Deadly pinned MCMG via a Back Slide to secure their date for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Next up, we hear from Bianca Belair after what transpired between Jade Cargill and Naomi at Elimination Chamber: Toronto.
Bianca Belair Speaks
Bianca Belair came out extremely emotional, stating that she should be happy with her WrestleMania 41 World Women’s Championship match against IYO SKY, but she’s not. She quickly invited Naomi out to explain herself.
Immediately, Naomi stated that she loved Bianca, she always did, and everything didn’t matter, considering everything she did for her and what they did together as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Naomi wanted to refocus and recapture the tag titles with Bianca. Belair did not have it. She posed the question and wanted a concise answer: did Naomi attack Jade Cargill or not? Naomi confirmed that she did. Belair would walk away, but Naomi kept talking and trying to plead her case.
“I DID IT!”

This conversation reached a fever pitch when Naomi absolutely lost it and called Bianca a “ungrateful b*tch.” Unfortunately for Naomi, Jade Cargill was in the building and made her way into the ring, absolutely destroying Naomi once again and concluding this intense confrontation between the three.
Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa
No one was surprised when Sikoa and Strowman started this match as if their lives depended on it. Both men decimated each other from bell to bell. When Braun Strowman was just about to pin the former self-proclaimed “Tribal Chief,” Tama Tonga would interfere, leading to disqualification.
Strowman would wreck Tonga and Sikoa until Jacob Fatu would march down to the ring. What happened next was textbook. Fatu and Strowman fought in the ring, around the arena, and near the production tech area.
Braun issued the exclamation point with a Chokeslam to Fatu from a great height through the production crew’s table, another statement to another already scathing-hot edition of these WWE SmackDown results.
Chelsea Green vs. Michin
In the home of ECW, Chelsea Green defended her title against Michin in a Street Fight. Michin did not hold back, immediately going on the offensive against a Cactus Jack outfit-wearing Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green. With B-Fab assisting Michin in taking out Piper Niven from the equation, Michin hit a Splash on Chelsea Green through a table.
As Michin was on the verge of winning, a hooded assailant would pull Michin out of the ring and beat her down. Chelsea Green capitalized on this and pinned Michin to retain.
Next, regarding SmackDown results, Cody Rhodes would address the shocking turn of events that happened with John Cena and The Rock.
Cody Rhodes Addresses John Cena and the WWE Universe
Cody Rhodes did not hold back on this one, saying he was absolutely shocked and heartbroken after Elimination Chamber: Toronto, considering John Cena a mentor and a friend. Unfortunately, things happened, and Cody Rhodes had to deal with it.
“There is no justification for you John Cena!”
Whatever excuse or reason @JohnCena may have, @CodyRhodes doesn’t want to hear it! 😤 #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/c1lOmUsTT7
— WWE (@WWE) March 8, 2025
Through it all, even if Cena shared the best moment of Cody’s career last year at WrestleMania XL, the one who gave him the greatest advice once he started his championship reign, and he considers him the guy that he wanted to live up to, this is now a different ball game. Rhodes said that there is no excuse for his actions.
At WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes stated that if John Cena wants some, he can get some.
Drew McIntyre vs. Jimmy Uso
The WWE Universe had barely any room to breathe watching this match. Both competitors went for the greatest hits early. Appropriately so, Jimmy Uso would immediately go for the kill, setting McIntyre up for the Uso Splash. Drew would get out of the way, hit the ropes and deliver a Claymore for the win.
Drew would exit the ring. However, McIntyre turned his attention back to Jimmy, looking to exact more punishment. But Damian Priest would not let that happen, battering McIntyre for what he did in Men’s Chamber Match and for earlier tonight.
LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
For the main event and to conclude the WWE SmackDown results for March 7th, 2025, Shinsuke Nakamura defended the U.S. Title against LA Knight.
Nakamura had the upper hand for most of the match, but Knight had the arsenal to answer everything Nak had to throw at him. The match reached a fever pitch when Nakamura hit LA Knight with an Avalanche Inverted Exploder Suplex. Shinsuke would pin Knight, but LA still had a lot of fight in him.
The biggest turning point of this match came when Nakamura accidentally spat the mist into Charles Robinson’s eyes. LA Knight would roll Nak up. Unfortunately, there was no one to count the fall. Without a referee, these two would fight it out, with LA Knight delivering a BFT to Shinsuke Nakamura. A new ref ran in and LA Knight ends the night with the gold in his hands.
