5 Reasons To Watch The 2025 WWE Royal Rumble

The air is thick with anticipation. As the dates tick off closer to February 1st, the excitement is growing in the world of wrestling. In only a few days, the Royal Rumble will be coming to us live from Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Royal Rumble signifies the start of WrestleMania season, and it is a show that carries so many fond memories with it. There are always big matches and even bigger surprises that come along with the show, making it a must-watch for any wrestling fan.

As we move towards Indianapolis, there are plenty of reasons to get excited. This should be one of the best shows in recent memory as WWE looks to pull out all the stops and start the road to WrestleMania on the right foot.

Here are some reasons why we should all be excited for the Royal Rumble.

A Banger Of A Tag Team Match

Everyone and their mother should be chomping at the bit now that the World Tag Team Championship match has been made official for the Royal Rumble. DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns are going to tear the house down in Indianapolis, and we should all be lucky to be taken along for the ride.

The turn of DIY, against their friends, to win the tag straps was a stroke of genius. It gives Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa something to sink their teeth into while having Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin grow into their babyface roles. This will be a great dynamic for them to work through, especially with a 2-out-of-3 fall stipulation.

The matches between DIY and MCMG have been great so far but have merely scratched the surface. The time they will be given on Saturday will be plenty to craft one of the best tag team matches in recent memory. It will also be the first time the tag championships have been featured on a major PLE.

Expect special things to happen.

What Royal Rumble Surprises Are in Store?

One of the biggest selling points to the Royal Rumble match is the myriad of surprises that are bound to occur. WWE has sold the match on several factors but one of the biggest is the surprise returns.

Every year, there are at least one or two shocks when the countdown clock reaches zero. Whether it be a debuting wrestler, someone from another company, or a wrestler from yesteryear who is back hoping to get one last day in the sun.

Regardless of how these returns happen, they are going to happen, and they are a huge reason why thousands of fans flock to the arenas come Rumble time. Rumors have been flying about as to who could be a surprise on Saturday. That is worth the price of admission alone.

A Wide-Open Field For Both Matches

The Royal Rumble is only as good as its participants. If the field is lacking, then the show will not live up to expectations.

This year boasts one of the deepest rosters in years. Both matches boast the best of the best when it comes to WWE wrestlers.

In the same breath, as these Royal Rumbles are very deep, both matches are some of the most unpredictable in recent memory. There is a case to be made for anywhere from four to six wrestlers to win the Royal Rumble this year.

Following the Royal Rumble, WWE can take many different directions. The main events of WrestleMania are not as cut and dry as they have been in the past, leaving the door wide open for a plethora of wrestlers to win the match. This unpredictable outcome should have everyone tuning in.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens Battle For The Ages

The program between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens has been nothing short of fantastic. Owens has gone back to the heel character that made him a star, and Rhodes has developed an extra edge to his persona that not many thought would be there.

Everything they have done in the lead-up to their ladder match has been gold. The brawling and the intense promos have done a great job of building anticipation for their ladder match.

Once both men step into the ring on Saturday, there is no doubt that we will see something special. Ladder matches alone spark the creative juices in wrestlers, and these are two of the best in the company. There should be no doubt that Owens and Rhodes will put on a ladder match for the ages at the Royal Rumble.

WrestleMania Season Begins!

Saturday night signifies the start of the road to WrestleMania. We are at the precipice of the most exciting few months on the WWE calendar.

This is the time of year when WWE pulls out all their big guns and every show is an exciting one. Even for the most cynical of fans, it’s an exciting time, and the Royal Rumble is the start of that road.

After Saturday, we will have greater clarity of what WWE plans to do with WrestleMania weekend. The Royal Rumble is the starting point not just for championship programs but for all major feuds going into ‘Mania.

It is the card that begins to shape how WWE programming will be run for the next few months. If you’re even remotely excited about that, you need to make sure to watch the Royal Rumble on Saturday.
